Lions with an all listed XXIII (and one more as an emergency!). With this game on Sunday they won’t lose anyone to the seniors either.

I thought Bell "limped off with a hamstring injury" early in the final quarter last weekend (according to the match review). Seems like a rapid recovery from a hammie!

Does anyone think we're a chance? That Lions team would have to rank as the most powerful NEAFL lineup on paper ever. All listed including emergencies.
I think it highlights that if you have minimal injuries in the club, you're as good a chance to play finals as the next club (both in seniors and reserves).

It's almost like we're coming up against an AFL team.

A long shot, but the Lions would probably have to have more injuries in this game, than what they've had for the rest of the season. I guess that the main reason that I'll be watching, is to see which of our youngsters stand up in an important game, against much more experienced opposition. The player that I'm most interested in watching is Gulden. I thought that he was very good at nullifying Uni's midfield, when he was moved in there for the final quarter. If he can do that again; then we've really got a prospect on our hands.

I thought the highlight of that quarter was one of the commentators, describing Mathieson collapsing at the knees to draw a free, as a "Geelong genuflect". Football wise, we didn't really look like scoring. Though the Lions probably had the better of the gale, even if it was generally going more crossfield.

Seems that Amartey could help out our KPD shortage next year. Looking good.

Don't really like our chances of a second half comeback, since the Lions slightly increased their lead, kicking to the difficult end. And I doubt if McLean is going to pass the concussion test, so that won't help either.

Bell and McInerney have probably been our best. Naismith has been useful in the ruck. Gulden has done a few good things. As has Amartey in defence. Umpiring has been assisting Brisbane.

We are getting slaughtered. It really is boys v men out there. I wonder if we are looking at Brisbane's ressie team - is there someone who could come into our team and make an impact?

Just to up the degree of difficulty, Amartey didn't come out after halftime, after failing a concussion test. Don't know what happened to him? A few good passages of play in that quarter, where we run through the Lions, rather than kicking to the outer wing. Thorne had a good quarter and Rose was more prominent.

All we need to do in the final quarter, is to kick seven goals to nil, against a vastly more experienced and confident opposition, with a couple of key players sitting on the bench.
