Guys like Rowbottom are the exception, hence he plays seniors regularly as a first year.
Btw Ralph is a great name. I've had a dog, several fish and also wanted to call my son Ralph. Unfortunately the boss vetoed it and he got Jake instead (Lloyd is his favourite player and his favourite position to play in U9s is as a small defender).
A chance they are all small defenders at Under 9's. Enjoy your junior footy. I had 10 most enjoyable years with my boys.

It's been so long since we've seen Naismith play that it's easy to forget that he's not only a good tap ruckman, but also quite handy around the ground and as a goal kicker. It didn't mind trading Nanka, because I figured Naismith was the better ruckman. His only problem is injury.

If we haven't already done so, we should give Rose a few sessions with club psychiatrist. We've got to get to the bottom of why he plays so well in the NEAFL and so poorly in the AFL. It's got to be mental.

Rose struggles with the physicality, tackling a more contested nature of AFL seniors. Doubt he'll get another go at it.

And his run without the ball. Doesn't chase and pressure enough. Too much jogging when there is a ball to be won or an opponent to shut down.

Agreed. His 2016 final series, including the GF, was great imo

There was a moment in the third where he gave the most limp, I couldn't care less hand pass to a team mate under pressure. That was the moment where he lost me. It was as if someone had told him he was already delisted and there was nothing he could do about it.
But, to his credit he bounced back after the 3 quarter stink. Jekyll and Hyde like!

Having just watched the final quarter on reply, while Geddes was converging from one side, it was actually McKellar who managed to crunch the Uni player while he was kicking. One the many useful contributions that he's made this season. The longer the season has gone, the more comfortable he has looked at the level. Whether being useful at NEAFL level, is enough to earn a place on the rookie list, I'm not really sure?

Yes! I was just watching the classic Swans v Bombers 2017 game (the Rohan mark and goal to win after the siren) and Naismith is very involved at the end. It's his long kick to Buddy and Buddy's subsequent point that keeps the ball at the Swans scoring end.

Good to see him back in action today. I enjoyed dipping into the NEAFL live stream, I should watch more next season.

Pink imo has done enough for another contract and I'll put my reputation at risk in saying he will play AFL in 2020........
I'll agree with you Ralph. He has become a very good defender. This guy was, a project player. The last on thr list. They must be really thrilled with his development. I thought his, game last week was very good too.

In fact they threw the bloody thing tobTagleabou at least three times that I saw. One resulted in a goal

I totally agree about Rose. He said when interviewed before a game he was nervous.

Well said. For those who still want to have a crack at it, Sydney Uni provides a great opportunity at NEAFL level. For those who don't, the Sydney comp is getting better and better and is a decent place to continue to play.
