Rose does not star in the AFL because despite his prodigious talent and all the will in the world he just can't follow a team gameplan. I understand he has really tried but he is just a free wheeling player. I like him and hope that his style suits one of the other sides and he gets picked up. He makes a perfect quarter back who hangs off the back of the scrum and provides the outlet. He is one of the best players I have seen for knowing where to position himself for this outlet. Unfortunately when it comes to two way running, blocking space, manning up, etc he just can't do it.

Thanks ugg. That's Homebush not Blacktown, and the main stadium, not Tom Wills oval, right? All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)Comment

Probably playing in the local comp.
I count 13 of their 22 having played for the Swans NEAFL team as some point in the past.
Raining heavily in Sydney at the moment and forecasted to continue tomorrow. Anyone familiar with how well GIANTS Stadium holds up in the wet?Comment

Definitely need long studs. I was there the last time the swans played neafl (month ago). The surface was immaculate.Comment

Speaking of toppies, I'm a bit disappointed that Sam Thorne is only an emergency in this game. He has been very good in the games he's played and more importantly can fill in as a midfielder, a position that seems quite lacking in this team at the moment. Rose, Bell, and Wicks filled in the onball spots for most of the last game with only sporadic bursts by guys like McInerney and Foot. I know Thorne received a heavy knock to the head after a sling tackle by Nick Robertson but if he's been named as an emergency I can only assume he's fit to play.Comment

One of the most disappointing issues in the NEAFL in the finals is the quota of players who can play for the AFL aligned teams against non aligned teams. This impacted the Swans in the NEAFL GF last season against Southport. Wondering how we will be impacted this season, as we play Sydney Uni and then Southport (if we win and Southport get beaten by Brisbane).Comment
