It's been so long since we've seen Naismith play that it's easy to forget that he's not only a good tap ruckman, but also quite handy around the ground and as a goal kicker. It didn't mind trading Nanka, because I figured Naismith was the better ruckman. His only problem is injury.
If we haven't already done so, we should give Rose a few sessions with club psychiatrist. We've got to get to the bottom of why he plays so well in the NEAFL and so poorly in the AFL. It's got to be mental.Comment

Rose struggles with the physicality, tackling a more contested nature of AFL seniors. Agreed. There was a moment in the third where he gave the most limp, I couldn't care less hand pass to a team mate under pressure. That was the moment where he lost me. It was as if someone had told him he was already delisted and there was nothing he could do about it.
But, to his credit he bounced back after the 3 quarter stink. Jekyll and Hyde like!Comment

Having just watched the final quarter on reply, while Geddes was converging from one side, it was actually McKellar who managed to crunch the Uni player while he was kicking. One the many useful contributions that he's made this season. The longer the season has gone, the more comfortable he has looked at the level. Whether being useful at NEAFL level, is enough to earn a place on the rookie list, I'm not really sure?Comment

Yes! I was just watching the classic Swans v Bombers 2017 game (the Rohan mark and goal to win after the siren) and Naismith is very involved at the end. It's his long kick to Buddy and Buddy's subsequent point that keeps the ball at the Swans scoring end.
Good to see him back in action today. I enjoyed dipping into the NEAFL live stream, I should watch more next season.Comment

I'll agree with you Ralph. He has become a very good defender. This guy was, a project player. The last on thr list. They must be really thrilled with his development. I thought his, game last week was very good too.

I totally agree about Rose. He said when interviewed before a game he was nervous. It's been so long since we've seen Naismith play that it's easy to forget that he's not only a good tap ruckman, but also quite handy around the ground and as a goal kicker. Well said. For those who still want to have a crack at it, Sydney Uni provides a great opportunity at NEAFL level. For those who don't, the Sydney comp is getting better and better and is a decent place to continue to play.Today's a draft of your epitaphComment
