But there's no doubt the Cats would like to have him back at the form he showed in the first half of the season. The former Sydney speedster kicked 20 goals in his first nine games at Geelong, and became a key element to a new-look forward set up that powered the Cats to the top of the ladder. But in the past seven games he has played, Rohan has managed only three goals, including one from just six disposals against Hawthorn in Sunday's loss. His unpredictability, sheer pace and goal sense became a feature of the Cats' forward half in a breakout start to the season, and they need his spark back as they set up for September. - Callum Twomey

+1 .....I was just about to post something similar when I saw that article....my thoughts were 'same old, same old'. Sort of confirms that for all his potential, Gary will be inconsistent and go missing in pressure games (and finals) until he retires.....and that we did the right thing by letting him go.

He is often summed up as a 'confidence player'......which I've always taken as code for being 'mentally weak'. It's a real pity because he has always had the physical ability to tear games apart.

Just noticed 100 NEAFL games for Jack Hiscox. I always rated him, thought he could've become a regular for us but obviously the club thought differently and delisted him 2016.

The AFL was way beyond Jack's ability. Glad to see that he enjoys playing footy enough to continue playing in the NEAFL. He's been available to be drafted by any club since delisting, but 18 clubs didn't think he was worth a second chance.

I know. I remember seeing him run and carry in NEAFL thinking he's going to be good but:
a) Big jump from NEAFL to AFL
b) Need more than just one attribute to make it

His disposal was atrocious. His one strength, speed, was never used in the AFL games he played.

Interesting player. Tremendous speed but I am not sure he has the agility to go with it. Happy to be corrected! Straight line speedsters (like a gary rohan) seem to get limited touches as they can't adjust to changes in direction. On the other hand a player like zak zones has speed and agility and can work his way through traffic far more effectively.

The swans have said he is going to be an assistant coach with us next year. Normally I would be against having another swans player as an assistant but I think McVeigh is an exception.
