A short summary I wrote of a speculative trade involving Jones had been accidentally deleted from my previous post. This summary is based on a long article from the AFL website. I'll repost it here because it's clearer than the original:

    Adelaide get: 13, 32 and 53
Bulldogs get: 23, Keath and Bruce
    St Kilda get: Jones
    Sydney get: 28
(Based on an article from the AFL website, see previous post for link)

I have posted this because it's an example of how complex trade deals can get. Trades don't always just involve two clubs.

I've said in a few posts that I think Wills should be gettable. Direct swap for Cameron, failing that, add a third rounder. Club must not rate him. Don't think pies would give us Aish or Scharenberg, although either would be handy to our cause.

            From afl.com

WHO IS HARD TO DEAL WITH?

It’s almost a tradition of trade period to identify Essendon and Adrian Dodoro as the most difficult trade negotiators.

Fact or fiction, only those who deal with the Dons really know.

“There are clubs that try and win every battle,” the CEO said.

“And there are new people that try to come in and make a stand. Peter Bell comes to mind and I’m not sure how the St Kilda trade for Brad Hill will pan out. But it makes for interesting viewing!

“Meanwhile, Daniher wants to go to Sydney and I’m watching on going ‘bloody hell, good luck with that!’ It’s just going to be difficult.”

The national recruiting manager, who boasts an intimate knowledge of every AFL player in the country and most draftees, nominated the Dons.

But the notion of wanting to ‘win’ versus wanting a ‘win-win’ is an intriguing one in itself.

“Essendon is the first club that comes to mind which can be difficult to deal with, but I’m sure there are others out there,” he said.

“I think most clubs want mutually beneficial trades. But not all clubs.”

Telstra AFL Trade Radio on Twitter: ""My strong belief is that the Swans have offered their first and second round pick. They have picks 5 and 25 as it stands. If that's the offer, it's a flat no (from the Bombers)"

If this is a fact, and there's lots of reporting which suggests it is, I agree with everyone else: pens down, let's move on.

That would be a flat no from me as well. 5 & 25 is way over the top for Daniher.

Slightly off-topic, but great news: Garry and Tim on Twitter: "As revealed by @DavidZita1 earlier in the hour, Ben King has re-committed to the Suns!

If the club facilitates this trade, all involved should resign if Daniher does not play the bulk of the next 2 seasons, kicks 60 goals / season and we win a flag. No excuses and we as supporters should hold them to account.

Wills and Aish up for grabs according to afl.com.

Never rated Aish whilst up here in Brisbane but may have improved since moving to the Pies. I think he was a first rounder back in the day.

Really like Wills though and I am surprised we haven't tried to get him in a direct swap for Cameron.

5 & 25 is already overs for an injured KPF we don't really need. Keep Papley. Watch how Joe goes in 2020. We need to stick to this as our last offer and move onto other deals like Rupert Wills from Collingwood for a bag of crisps/Cameron..

I think the majority of us were feeling fairly comfortable with the 2019 & 2020 trade and draft periods given the age and talent profile of our list. Daniher has just thrown the dodo bomb into our planning :-(

Yep especially when ur 15th on the ladder and getting worse as a list of players

We have lost such great decision makers and leaders:

                            Macca
                            Grundy
                            Smith
                            Jack

Plus maybe Jones and paps going aswell ??

Our trajectory as a playing squad has weakened so much end of 2019 season

The trade period opportunity is gold for us.......this draft is silver and bronze

Smith & Grundy were essentially lost from 2018 not 2019 given how many games they played between them last season. On form, you could almost argue the same for Jack based on form. I don’t rate Jones as highly as others do on here. Macca will be missed, as will Paps if he goes.

The bombers are @@@@ing delusional if they think we are going to offer up a player + a first rounder + another pick for Daniher.

Call their bluff, take the chance he will be convinced to stay next year and take him for nothing at the end of next year if he still wants to come to Sydney.

                                The Bombers are idiots.
