With my vast (middle aged and female) playing experience, I’d have thought they can be at least partly - maybe mostly- trained. Keeping your feet would be a little about natural balance, but more core lower body strength and mindset. While being a one touch player I would expect to be developed through technique and years of ball handling experience.
They are certainly attributes that go towards being a good footballer. Players who can pick the ball cleanly off the ground will play quicker than the rest, regardless of their leg speed because they have that extra split second to assess their options and make a decision. It’s partly also physical though. One of the reasons JPK has dropped off a bit in the last couple of seasons is that he’s been a lot less clean picking the ball up. Fumbly even, at times. But I doubt that’s because his hands or coordination are failing him and more because he’s been having issues with various parts of his lower body (back issues maybe, and reportedly groin soreness).
