I don't think Trev or anyone is implying they know more than KB. The man is literally a legend and an expert in what he does. Can someone make sure Trev gets a good nap in?
The fact anyone here assumes to know more than KB & Co is laughable. From the highlights reel, the kids we got look great.
Taylor could by anything, and I by the late 30s, it's speculative at best anyway, so good call taking a punt.
Warner looks like he has brilliant vision in close and incredible desperation. You can't teach either.
However, we all love our footy, the swans and have strong enough opinions to voice them on this forum.
Overall, I think KB has done a good job with the players he has picked. 2 should be excellent, 2 speculative, with Taylor having tremendous potential. Looking forward to season 2020Comment

I'm also excited about our first 3 selections. They all add something different to our squad. Lots of potential there. Warner was a shock to me as we could have easily gone with Randall or Bianco at that point but clearly our recruiters see something more in Warner than those others.

I'm happy with our selections. I'm not putting any pressure on them but:
Stephens to be a Josh Kelly
Gould to be a Shannon Hurn
Taylor to be a Michael O'Loughlin
Warner to be a Greg Williams.Comment

Reflecting on our non selection of Bianco and Rantall, I suspect both are too similar to players we already have. With Stoddart, Ling, McInerney and Foote, we are not lacking in potential options off half back and wing. Taylor looks to provide a bit of grunt inside (?Brett Kirk) or lock down small (?Smith), both areas that need reinforcing.Comment

I'm only a couch expert at list management, but watching the draft last night I was curious why we traded up to pick 38 to get Warner when almost certainly we could've done so with our next (last) pick being 69 as it turned out? Was it an option to draft either Rantall / Bianco with pick 38, Warner with 69 and then only have 2 selections in the Rookie draft (instead of 3)?Comment

My understanding is we were only going to have 4 picks, so when the opportunity came to move up we took it... and then bid on the top player on our list, who was Warner. It may well be that he would have been available without trading up. But this way gave us the best opportunity to grab the player we wanted. Even if he was a left-field bolter.I'm only a couch expert at list management, but watching the draft last night I was curious why we traded up to pick 38 to get Warner when almost certainly we could've done so with our next (last) pick being 69 as it turned out?
