One missing comma and I'm being lambasted like Eddie McGuire.
Decades as a novelist and it all comes crashing down because of one comma. For what it's worth I understood what you meant.

Too soft for a seniors centre bounce.

You could never be as bad as Eddie! No one can.

I agree with this. If his ankle isn't right then he shouldn't be playing. He didn't seem to be his usual self but I thought it might've been because of the knock he copped to the head.

I'm sure that's what I got taught! Eg: 'I bought some scarves and they were yellow, red, green and blue in colour' cannot be 'I bought some scarves and they were yellow, red, green, and blue in colour'. Comma's replace the word 'and' in the first and correct example of that sentence and therefore can't be used before the word 'and'.

          I rest my case.....

PS: They also cannot be used before the word 'but'.

I see worse grammar on this thread everyday Ludwig. It's just a pity your tiny error lead to misunderstanding.....but it did lead to a rather fascinating debate on comma's and the word 'and'.

            I believe I won.....

Just seen Melb Geelong Port and Carlton run 18-22 yr olds thru the midfield, im sure widdle 6ft4 86kg Dawson could run thru our midfield

On the injury front, wondering how far Nick Smith, Matthew Ling & Durak Tucker are realistically from resuming playing as I haven't heard much of them lately? AFL.COM this week had their status officially listed as:

Nick Smith - Hamstring - TEST
Matthew Ling - Toe - INDEFINITE
Durak Tucker - Knee - INDEFINITE

Ling is listed as a shoulder now? Wonder how you end up with a shoulder when not actually playing? Hope he's not yet another injury prone recruit!

Our coaches have no faith in our youngsters to play a meaningful role in the midfield. Look at the last couple of seasons - prefer Hanners and Jack playing crap and now we are seeing the result. We have JPK and Parker and that's it. Everyone keeps talking about Heeney and Mills but a) neither could be considered establish mids yet b) not getting a good run through there anyway. On Dawson, I'm becoming increasingly convinced he could do most damage for us off half back. He's tall, good overhead and a great kick. He could be the one to free up Mills to move into the midfield.

                      Very frustrating
Port have no issue putting guys thru the Midfield we have a 5 yr apprenticeship
Expansion teams have thrown out the old addage of playing guys as taggers or in pockets for a fee games, just bloody play them were they belong.

I wonder if another week of the media laughing at Horse makes him put Mills and Heeney in the midfield, regardless of ankle

I guess this is as good a place as any: Curnow to miss two to three weeks.

                                OUT : Clarke, Blakey

                                IN : Thurlow, McCartin

Clarke had 9 possessions and 0 tackles to add to his lack of hardness at the footy....enough said.

Blakey will be a top player but for now we need the more physical McCartin in our forward line.

Thurlow coming in will free up Mills for a run on the ball.
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MT
