It hurts to say but we are simply no where near as good as our list looked like it should have been this year

To be fair to those hundred, they've made a fair bit of noise.Once the game opened up we clearly cannot go with their run and spread. Their speed and fitness has been just too much for us. Which is what you'd expect from, as someone else said, a synthetic team of top draft picks.
What is pathetic is the turn out of the hundred-odd Giants fans. To call this a rivalry match makes a mockery of the tradition and passion of real footy teams and fans.

We need to recruit for some inside mids, outside run and a bit of rebound off half back. And players with skills.Comment

Don't want it but think we going to have it, and maybe its a Freudian slip but i think you mean annus horribilis (though given the skills on display you might be right as it is)Comment

I am willing to give Thurlow a bit more time - he is not great but OK I think. Will be better with more time in the side. Clarke - hmm - back to NEAFL and needs 3-4 outstanding games to be considered. O'Riordan would do better I believe - not the stamina of Clarke but a million times better disposal.
Dawson and Jones possibly the only players from last year that have improved.Comment

Wonder if Horse will persist with his “we can turn it around by playing better” line in his presser after this?Comment

Given the way the AFL has dudded the team, e.g., the trade ban being the most obvious, I wonder whether they will start panicking if the team's downward slide gets worse. It might mean their favourite child the Giants is more successful but the Swans are the AFL in Sydney. A sharp decline in ratings and attendances will give them some real pause for thought.
The club has made a huge mistake over the years in not going hard when bad decisions are made, we all know the squeaky well gets the grease. We should have taken the AFL to Court over the trade ban and made it clear we won't be walked over.Comment
