No doubt , as was Longmire , but your post implied we are a powerhouse club and only take on powerhouse coach’s , which is not the case. We do take on relatively unproven coaches as it seems, and that is a big part of the reason we are a powerhouse club !

In my opinion Dew or Shaw hasn't got to the level to even be considered yet
Eade was a reserves premiership coach with North & Brisbane prior to joining us IIRC. No senior experience.
Roos obviously an assistant to Eade.
      Longmire an assistant to Roos
Buckenara and Northey, first time AFL/VFL coaches when they were appointed.
Col Kinnear hadn’t even played a VFL/AFL game let alone coached one.
Bob Hammond, Brett Scott, Tony Franklin all caretakers whose senior VFL/AFL coaching debuts were with Sydney.
Quade, transitioned from South also has his first gig as a Swan.

In fact, since the move to Sydney of all our coaches, only Hafey & Barrassi has ever coached at the VFL/AFL level prior to coaching the Swans.

So apart from Barassi and Hafey, any “who’s who of coaching” associated with the Swans were made by the Swans, not attracted to them as developed & proven coaches

That's how I read it too.....I'd say Pridham is 'confident' rather than 'cocky'.

My post was about us having top echelon coaches for so long, the next coach better be top shelf to.

We are a powerhouse club, especially off field.

The media just love this pure speculation

North’s top coaching target John Longmire and Glenn Archer to attend Roos’ premiership reunion.

Will the elephant in the room be discussed at North Melbourne’s 1999 flag reunion? A couple of the Kangas’ likely top choices will be there — along with Glenn Archer, who’ll help pick the club’s next coach.

              Category: | Herald Sun

North Melbourne powerbroker Glenn Archer will come face-to-face with the club’s top coaching target John Longmire at the Roos’ 1999 premiership reunion on Saturday. The Roos are yet to formally discuss their senior vacancy with Longmire, but have identified the Swans’ senior boss and former Roos’ forward as an ideal candidate.

The 20-year flag function at an inner-city pub will bring together Archer and Longmire for the first time since Brad Scott’s shock mid-season departure last month. Longmire’s right-hand man John Blakey, who has been widely touted as a senior coach in the making, will also attend the function...

Longmire’s manager, Liam Pickering, admitted he would listen to any approach from North but said “I fully expect him to be at the Swans” next season.

“I haven’t spoken to North,” Pickering said on SEN. “(There has been) not one thing offered to me from North Melbourne about John. He is contracted to the end of next year, so it’s pretty straight forward. He has got his team going really well, that’s the main thing.”

Not sure if anyone noticed, but after Sunday's game, that was the happiness I have seen horse since 2012 GF. He is not going anywhere with the group of players we have now and for the Next few years.
