I don't think he's going anywhere, but it would be good for him to officially reject their offer. Are clubs allowed to approach contracted coaches during the regular season?Comment

A contract is only as strong as your desire/ability to enforce it. Would the Swans launch an action against NM on this basis if JL decided to leave?Comment

If he decides to go, so be it. He is considered pretty fondly as a part of the Roos' recent history, so I don't see how it's that different to how any other club views these 'return of the prodigal son' type situations. Especially when he's proven to be a top shelf coach for a decent period of time now.Comment

Settle petals
It’s on thing for North to want him. Many clubs might. It’s another to make an offer. Lots of clubs do that too, North being a club that lives to throw out big bucks to entice the big fish. It’s another thing entirely to land the big fish. North aren’t so good at that.
Let’s just wait & see how this plays outComment

Thanks chammond. That's the answer I was looking for. Incidentally, I might be nitpicking but I think it would be better to say inducing someone to breach a contract is actionable rather than "against the law". I'll move on.All opinions are not equal. He's been here 17 years, doesn't owe us a thing. Hope he stays, will understand perfectly if he moves on.
I assume (I hope correctly) that the club has been as diligent about his succession plan as they were when he first moved into the gig.Comment

Horse would be silly to leave us unless its 100% for the money.
Norf have a crappy list and with his "grandfather offer" there won't be much left in the Norf department cap to get the support he would want.
On the other hand, the Swans have one of the best lists of young talent going around. Besides, I can't see the Swans letting him go unless it's a win/win scenario.Comment
