Well done to all, especially John for changing the game style and himself. Didn't think he could do it, and I will give it to the rest of the year, but if it keeps on this trend we should look at a new contract. As long as its established this usn't a one off upturn.

It’s a good thing we have the bye because some of our boys will be tired. The ToG stats are really interesting - Rampe 100%, Buddy 97%, Mills/Melican 96%, Lloyd 95%, Hewett 94%, Clarke 93%. Enormous. Does anyone have access to the Telstra tracker stats? I’d be interested to see how many kms these guys did.
He was clearly very proud of them all.Comment

22 disposals
10 contested possessions
7 tackles
I almost fell off the chair when reading his stats today
In comparison Hewett and Heeney both had 9 contested possessions and 2 and 4 tackles each"be tough, only when it gets tough"

We (mrs d and I) couldn't get to the game, were already committed to the Opera House where our younger son (an Eagles fan) was singing in a Beethoven program. At the end of the second item mrs d checked the AFL and got the result. Our boy then opened the last section of Beethoven's 9th Symphony, Song of Joy. I've heard of happenstance but that takes the cake. And outside as I write, the kookaburras are laughing their heads off!
The disciplined way they stuck to the game plan was quite something; I can't believe they're anything but well coached.
Had to love the Weagles supporter behind me. She began with some spirited barracking for her team and against ours; by the end of the second quarter she was quietening down; by the third she was pleading with her boys not to lose too much percentage. By the fourth ... she was gone.
Somewhat invidious to single out individuals in what was a great team performance. I see the coaches gave Paps 10 votes. While not arguing that, I agree with the comments made already about Allir. It reminded me that one commentator earlier in the year - I can't remember who - singled him out and said this could be his breakout year in which he made the All Australian team. His reading of the ball yesterday was uncanny, as others have said; a joy to watch.
Such a satisfying performance from the Bloods - a superb day.Comment

This article is pretty close to how I feel about the resurgence of the Swans in the last 5 weeks! It has been a pretty extraordinary turnaround.
During the Collingwood game I thought to myself - is the rebuild over already?
Six things we learned: Tigers won't win the flag - AFL.com.au
Sydney might have undergone the quickest rebuild in history
This is, quite frankly, stunning. The Swans look a completely different side to the one that started the season 1-6. That team looked lethargic, and the battle-weary warriors that served it so well for so long, helping lead it to finals in 15 of the past 16 seasons, didn't seem like they could carry this outfit to September. That won't happen in 2019 but looking at the form on show in the past five weeks, with victories over Essendon and North Melbourne, followed by competitive outings against Collingwood and Geelong, then capped off with a thumping of reigning premier West Coast, who's to say a swift rebound isn't on the cards? The way John Longmire's men controlled the footy against the Eagles, held firm in defence and gave their potent forward set-up a chance to thrive was ultra-impressive. Oh, and Lance Franklin is still among the best players in the competition. They'll be all right, the Swans. - Dinny Navaratnam

Funny thing about the game was that I was late due to illness and we missed seeing the first couple of goals, but heard them over the loudspeaker.
As we took our seats I said to my wife “we’re just in time for West Coast to pull themselves together and start to come back and destroy us”. For the rest of that quarter, it looked like it might be true, too and it wasn’t until the 3rd quarter that I started to relax. But even when they were close I felt like we would fight it all ether way. A great day out.
And I don’t know where you found short queues. At the top of the Noble stand they were dreadful for both food and beer.Comment

Short queues in the Ladies stand. Walked into the bar at quarter time and there were about 5 people in the queue.Comment

So what exactly switched the team on from a hesitant indecisive and slow moving bomb-it-to-me (with all these others here too) to a swift cm perfect hard running masterclass ?
It’s like they had an advance screening of Neale Danihers remarkable speech (with no notes) to the Group (sorry don’t know how to post it) about owning responsibility.
Maybe Horse had his own magical wand.
But I suspect they were not too far off a performance like this.Comment

Someone may have already mentioned this but i'm pretty sure McCartin was playing as a decoy
to take McGovern/Schofield out of the 50 when they were on him.
If you look at the behind the goals footage of some of our goals
Our forwards (menzel especially) all worked together to create spaceComment

Oh my. 20 years is a really LONG time wet coke budgies. I couldn't be happier.
Wasn't that the best performance we've put on all year. About time they "gelled".
Amazing they did it with one on the bench.
Loved this game. Loved everything about it (except for the injuries).
Love ya McHack, but it's time, mate. Let a kid have your spot.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.Comment
