Thought it must have been as Swans players & staff were so warm in their greetings. Hope you gave him a cheer as well. He will always be a Swan to us.

Rowbottom had a really eye catching game for a young bloke and it was good to see him get some decent time in and around the midfield. He'll be a good un.

And Dawson was pretty excellent - he seems like an old head on a young body.

As well as possessing a brilliant left boot, Dawson's really composed and can take a mark. He always seems to find a way to make space for himself.

Nichols probably had the better of the rucking today, but Knoll did some good work, and seems to be developing a combination with Fox.
I agree with you on Knoll. From what I've seen of him in the NEAFL streams, he rucks sort of heavy.....not sprightly at all. Makes me wonder how he was doing so well in the SANFL.

Rowbottom is a gun. For those looking for the JPK long-term replacement, look no further.

It appeared to me that Dawson was iced up for a corkie rather than a muscle strain.

If we bring in another ruckman next week (as opposed to playing Aliir), I would prefer Amartey to Knoll, even though Amartey is nowhere ready for AFL footy. The fact that he's played with the team for a year and a half means he knows our system. He's also a better player around the ground. I would go with Amartey as being the best option in a difficult situation.

Agree. Champion data had him as our 7th best player, pretty much equal with Hewett, Reid and Aliir. Still a bit generous in my book, but more realistic.

There as a 25m kick in our backline which the umpires called "not 15, play on". I nearly fell off my chair. Then in the 2nd quarter they did it to the Suns. I mean, I understand they don't want to reward dinky little kicks, but when a player kicks it half way across the field, surely it's a mark!

It's not unheard of for a player to come back on after a dislocated shoulder. I think Hannebery did his in his second or third year. It was about the 3rd quarter and he came back on and played out the game, then missed the next week or two. And although Cresswell's famous kneecap dislocation did finish him up for the game, he played the next week. Given Sinclair's injury was so early in the game I thought they might try and give him another shot after assessing the injury. Having another dislocation so quickly is concerning though. I wonder if he'll have to go in for surgery?

Incidentally I used to play basketball with a guy who was very prone to shoulder dislocations. He wouldn't even go off the court, just pop it back in and play on. Eventually it got so loose that it would dislocate at least once in nearly every game and he had to have surgery. Obviously Sinclairs injury is different - he seemed to be in a lot of pain whereas it didn't really bother my friend at all.

Rowbottom had a few really good moments tonight - was impressed. The kid has some real talent about him and I like the look of him a lot.

It was a much better second half. We were able to move the ball much better...although kicking inside 50 needs improvement.

It seemed like the Suns tired and they were turning the ball over.

I thought Aliir did well in the ruck. It will be interesting what we do next week. Essendon also have injured rucks.
Re Dawson, looked like a corked thigh. Should be right. Great game by him.

Also thought it was Rowbottom's best game clean in close and kicked well.

Good to see Ronke snag a couple.

I feel a little more positively than some. Good win.

Only saw bits and pieces of the game but my lord Jordan Dawson , can kick it , can clunk it , and can absolutely nail a tackle . That’s a pretty good skill set on the young fella. When can we upgrade that two year extension ?

Had to leave at 3/4 time to go home and make dinner for my visiting nephew and his new GF (the sacrifices you make) .
Lots of sloppiness (couldn’t have just been the swirling wind) up till then , so was surprised by the 7 goal win in the end.
Despondent about Sinkers injury, however Aliir is such a versatile player, his tap ruck work is outstanding, excellent timing. But he needs to ruck AND rush to full back !

A wins a win!!! We need to smash Carlton next week - but our injury toll is mounting. Can we limp into the 8?
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

Essendon next week then Carlton. We need to smash both anyway.

Boring first half. Strong second half.

Dawson is a gun. Heeney worked into some form. Papley continues to play well.

Rowbottom for Clarke was always a good call. Has so much more upside.

I really liked Aliir in the ruck. Definitely would keep it this way next week rather than bring in a sub standard AFL player. Shame Cameron is injured when he finally gets a chance!
