I don’t know how serious our interest was in Daniher last year. Or ever.

We are not in the ladder position to be a destination club and we may well not have the $ as Bazza says, due to Buddy’s salary.

I can see us being much more of a player next year or even 2022.

Daniher to Brisbane makes sense to me. Wonder if the Dodo will force them to trade.

Great, another boring 3 week trade period hijacked by the muppet Dodoro for the first 2 weeks and 5 days

Happy to know Joe Danaher won't be coming to the Swans. We already have too many injury prone tall forwards.

Daniher says he wants to go to Brisbane but does Brisbane want him?

This is the same way the Daniher to Sydney saga started in the media last year.

Happy for Joe to go to the Lions. Would much prefer Sydney to take a punt (should his medicals go ok) on Paddy McCartin. Would cost a lot less, incentivise him and pick him up for pick 100.
I like the look of trade week for Sydney already. 3 quality youngsters to get in. Would be nice to get one of Charlie Constable or Nakia Cockatoo for peanuts and maybe Brayden Preuss.

Paddy McCartin doesn't need to be drafted, we can just add him to the list as a delisted player. I think I read the AFL have to give Paddy the ok to resume playing.

Even with Jeremy Cameron, it's hard to imagine he is not a bit banged up, and he is a lot closer to the end of his career than the start.

I hope Dodoro has learnt his lesson now and they don’t carry on with their egotistical tough guy baloney. If they carry on like last year you could imagine they will accidentally re hire Daniher at stupid wages to sit in the treatment room as a sign of how hopelessly uninterested the club is in player welfare.

I don’t think we will get Preuss. We don’t have any draft picks to get involved in a mini bidding war. We will need em all to make up the points required to take Campbell and Guilden. That’s unless we send Melican and Ronke to North in exchange for their pick 25. Or something like that.

If he ends up having a magnificent season? Well, at least it will be for Brisbane, not Essendon.

We can use future picks. A future third, second at a stretch with a future third coming back maybe.

I definitely think we were serious about Daniher last year. And I suspect we decided to pass this time but I can only guess why. I feel a bit sad to see Daniher slip away when we could have afforded him pickwise but relieved too because we couldn't really afford his salary and the risk. He'll be a great fit for Brisbane. It's a bit scary especially if they win the comp this year and then add Daniher. Winning the flag would be such a coup for them after being so far in the doldrums 5 or so years ago!

As a convert from Rugby League in the last few years I am getting an understanding of the team equalisation methods in AFL that other codes should adopt. It seems obvious to me and has been for a couple of years that we struggle to get the ball out of centre bounces and the pressure goes onto our defence quickly.

I see getting an experienced ruck as a priority and while I would not advocate giving up pick 3 clearly we are going to have to give up something to get what we need. Obviously the draft is not the answer to this problem. Any ideas of who we have in mind as I can't see our next flag coming until this is sorted.
