Brisbane and GWS appear to be the teams that are absolutely stacked with midfielders at all age groups and will genuinely have trouble holding vs serious offers from other clubs. Pies also in trouble with the Cap.

If we let Jones go for a mid 30s trade could we make that happen in reverse with a Caldwell, Ely Smith ? supposedly GWS are upping their two year off for caldwell to 4yrs after interest from u guessed it Saint Kilda who just keep on trading !!!

or could we use a late picks for a cedric cox or corey Lyon?

A midfield tall that could also play off the both ends of the field.......for no trade or a late late pick is Jacob Allison

Intimates that Melican and Ronke are the 2 that could be on the trade table, and I agree. Ling and Stoddart are likely to be resigned.

Maybe we could move up to pick 2 by offering both Melican and Ronke NM to move up one place and perhaps get a bit of points post round 2. North are likely to get some picks in this range for players they have on the market.

I reiterate, that I think we should limit our trade targets to KPFs and ruckmen.
is james bell also up for contract ?

Certainly agree with the last bit. Think we'd be very lucky to do the deal with you suggest, but it'd obviously be welcome.

My understanding is both Bell and Clarke are out of contract this year.

              Season Review: Jed Anderson

not contracted as yet but i have been impressed by Jeds conversion to an inside mid last few years..........would he be a good value addition to young emerging team ?

Tim Watson reporting Paddy McCartin to Sydney a possibility. Passed his medical and in good shape. Could be smart recruiting, cheap with huge upside. As long as he's medically okay I hope this happens

Paddy McCartin - could easily switch to defence you would expect if being a forward is concerning

If we want a little more experience and can make a trade or two happen with players that could add to our best 22
                    Jed Anderson
                    Rory Atkins

                    Emerging future top talent:
                    Ely Smith, Caldwell etc

                    Cheap and depth:
                    Oscar McDonald
                    Tom McDonald
                    Paddy McCartin

Despite getting medical clearance & being in great shape, does the AFL still need to tick Paddy's return for his long term interest in light of Polly Farmer, Spud & Shaun Smith?

My nephew did predict when we drafted Tom that we'd also get Paddy one day, which i'd scoffed at the time.

Paddy McCartin is free to obtain and won't be on much money so worth a shot. He's trimmed down and in good shape.

I wonder what shape is brain is in as opposed to his body? That sounds awful but it is important for his well being. We should only draft him if he is not at risk of long term harm. I am struggling to see how that can be the case.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

If cleared fit to play, easily a better option then any other key forward based on $$ and upside
