One rule that still seems in place is that you can not be on the rookie list for more than three years. Hawthorn have moved a player to the senior list for that reason. The rule that you can have only one third year rookie may have gone or been changed to exclude Cat B as McLean and Wicks would be both 3rd year.

Cal Twomey's latest and final draft form guide has dropped: https://www.afl.com.au/news/526016/cal-twomey-s-phantom-form-guide-december-update.All opinions are not equal. Mind you, in better news, the Hun is reporting that North may take Archie Perkins at pick 2!

It will be more interesting to see Twomey's Phantom Draft (which doesn't merely rate players but forecasts the order he thinks they will be picked) which will be released on Monday night. His track record is good but it will be a tough year for him this year I think.
MW, do you say Hollands' injury update is "terrible news for us" because it reduces the chances of him being selected before our pick or for some different reason e.g. you hate the Bombers and the idea of them getting a draft steal? It's not entirely clear what you mean. All opinions are not equal. Yes, I think that would fit within what we have budgeted for.

The update on his ACL, if true, makes all of those scenarios less likely. Look at Brodie Kemp last year who slid to pick 17.
I would of course love to see the Bombers (well Dodoro) get screwed. It sounds like they refused to offer a satisfactory deal to North for pick 2, so that is a minor victory already. Sadly, with the picks they've got I don't see how they could stuff this draft up.
As an aside, I find it interesting that we've shown lots of interest in DGB. Based on KB's past form, this almost guarantees that we won't pick him. It really feels like no one has a clue what's going to happen. Which is exciting, and would be even more so if we had pick 2 not 3.
I'm also amazed at how much movement there is in draft rankings without any of the draftees actually playing. Bruhn seems to be the big slider and Perkins the bolter, I'm just not sure on what basis?Comment

Sounds like the Crows will pick JUH as number 1

Start the car! Would only take our first two picks and downgrade 40 to 52 to claim Campbell. Then matching Gulden would leave us with two early 50s picks, project ruckman? Papley Jnr? a Vic slider our recruiters like?Comment

There are quite a few ruck prospects who might be available... depending on who we draft at pick 3Comment

UGL will force the Western Bulldogs to use up their points, but Collingwood and the Power also have highly rated players. It would be just Dorro form to screw those clubs over. If Essendon bids on McInnes or Jones we will have picks left over.doof-doofComment

He said the player they'll bid for will be the player they think is the best and they wouldn't bid on JUH unless they think he's that player. Not quite the same thing, even though most pundits say they think JUH is the best. Clubs often have their own rankings that differ to one another and probably even more so to the media pundits. All opinions are not equal.
