    I'm officially on the bandwagon.
I just saw the video and came to RWO to say the same thing. I've seen some footage of him in games before, but not as a video package.

He's a bull of a player and a ferocious tackler. Longmire is going to love him. Looks athletic with a good skill set.

I wouldn't be worried about any shortage of inside mids at the Swans. I also think Gulden, despite his lack of height, will also be a bull of a player and will be more than capable of being an on baller.

My only worry now that we will have too many elite players that will challenge our salary cap management. We will have to move into premiership contention quickly to keep them more interested in glory than money.

Campbell is THE best kick in this draft, Gulden rated very highly by foot as well and McDonald is a long accurate kick, handy for a FF :-)
      Saw Gulden interviewed.. Impressively mature.

Ludwig, we have a crop of very talented youngsters mainly. Many unproven, many yet to reach the potential we hope they will reach. Let’s worry about having an abundance of ‘elite’ talent when we are faced with that very nice problem. Right now, it’s so far from being an issue it’s not funny.

I agree. I was really surprised. He looks ready to tear it up. I think we're going to hear much more of this youngster.

It's an impressive highlights reel, that's for sure. Guess one of the qualifications is what quality was the opposition in some of those games. Still, it shows the moves he has.

My observation from watching him in a few NEAFL games, last year's U18 champs and NAB League games (where he played as an underager) and this year's two academy games against the Giants is that he has some AFL attributes but doesn't do very much of them. As an underager last year that was maybe to be expected, so I'd been looking forward to him (and a few of the rest of his cohort) showing what they could do in their draft year. Sadly we were deprived of most of that.

He played mostly in the midfield in the two academy games this year and I thought he was a bit underwhelming - busier than in the forward line where I'd mostly seen him play, but somewhat meat-and-potatoes. He maybe shapes as a medium sized forward, who occasionally goes through the midfield, much like his look-a-like.

It's good to see a decent proportion of our list now comprising academy graduates - 9 currently on the list by my count.

Impressive young man. He would've interviewed well and along with his obvious talent, can see why we took him.
Why is McDonald wearing the old jumper? His cards must be marked.

I'm a soothsayer. The future just unfolds before me.

Just think of it this way: I worry about the future so the rest of RWO doesn't have to.

Oh that's so funny, there was another brother in the shot when they were interviewing him and I noted they could be twins. Guess that's cos they are.

That was one of the stand out features of the post selection interviews - every kid who spoke was mature and articulate. Not sure whether that's because the top draft prospects all get presentation skills training or they're top draft prospects because they present so well. Certainly an interesting contrast with how those interviews used to be!

Oh Ludwig, a BIG yes please from me!

Watching the draft last night reminded me that like previous drafts, every player selected is a great pick and has star written all over them but half of those future "stars" will have been delisted in the next five years. They really do go overboard talking up every player, Shifter can't help himself LOL

I too am bemused by our rookie pick, why a hbf when we should have been looking for a ruck protege, Even if he does not make it at least give it a try. Hbf we have a plenty

I have just rewatched the bit of the draft where we take McDonald and Campbell. I reckon some of the posters are confusing the video of him being taken with the interview video. In the interview the room is happy but quiet and Logan is understated...however when the pick was made the whole room erupted...even the oldies. His mum threw both her arms high in the air and the his dad hugged him and looked absolutely delighted. Same for the rest of the room. No reluctance at all.

Wow - Tanner Bruhn looked like he’d just been sentenced to reform school and was saying goodbye to his mum at the train station!
