Thought Robbie Fox was really good tonight. The improvement that he has shown this year has been second to none. Dependable and gives his all.

Rowbottom will be a star, Dawson great. A real learning curve for our team, but thought that they fought on gamely.

Looking for ward to seeing Big Will Gould at some stage as well as Maibaum.

All in all I don't think that we are too far away (about 2 years from playing finals and having a real impact). What should not be lost is that we have a very young team, who will fade in and out of games. It will be a matter of 30-40 games into our young players before everything clicks.

We are however missing someone in the guts. At the moment it is boys against men.

So all in all positive from me - well played Sydney

It would have been nice to win, but we were outplayed. Anyway, after watching the St. Kilda - Gold Coast game, I wouldn't mind holding onto pick 2 in the draft. GC have so much talent, I don't know how we are going to compete with them, let alone some others. A pick 2 in the draft plus Campbell and Gulden will help, and we certainly need every bit of talent we can get.

Not good enough from Parks....should be stepping up in Joeys absence. In a winnable match, it's disappointing.

Agreed Ludwig. We cannot waste picks on Daniher, only recruit smartly - target players who will help (like St K did last year and we did in 2009/10 on McGlyn and Kennedy)

I just read he had 12 tackles....maybe I was a little harsh. That stat at least shows intent.????

Florent not a mid. Time to give someone else a shot.

Don’t know what to think yet about #stretchergate vs #metalstuds

But despite the result I’m embracing my inner Brendan Bolton and saw quite a few “green shoots”:

Wicks debut was more convincing than Taylor (L) or Gray.
Fox could be following in Rampe’s footsteps
Stephens second quarter was extremely promising. I thought it was a big step forward.
If anyone is not yet on the Rowbottom train, why not?
Not sure where Thurlow was playing but by far his most convincing performance as a Swan.
                  Hayward’s mojo is returning.

Obviously some concerns. I think it’s a bit soon to write off Melican after one game back, but some worries. Got smashed in the clearances. Sinkers will only ever be a band-aid.

I don’t know what AA’s best position is just yet. Hopefully he’s not the new Jesse White or dare I say Dean Towers?

Also what was the go with Aliir? Only 3 touches and could barely run at times. Surely injured

He's a restricted free agent. Any offer we give to him Essendon can (and most likely will) match. Thus if we go down that path we will have to trade with Essendon. Don't want this to happen

‘Swans confirmed afterwards that Wicks was wearing "standard issue boots but had a combination of metal and plastic studs”.

Star Pie hamstrung, Buckley queries studs in freak Quaynor injury

Is that illegal? What do most players wear?

And having seen the grisly photo of Quaynor’s leg I think complaints about the stretcher and the slow pace it moved should be shelved. The doctor was trying to hold his leg together and almost certainly asked for the slow pace, probably to stem the bleeding

2020 Round 10 Vs Pies at Gabba

I’ve watched the Quaynor tackle on Wicks several times and I can’t see how Wicks studs could have caused Quaynor’s awful injury.

But as Quaynor brings Wicks down his right leg below the knee - where the huge long gash is - appears to drag along the ground for some distance as a result of Wicks’ forward momentum.

I reckon they need to check the ground in the area that the incident happened. I’m wondering if the injury has been caused by a sprinkler head that has not been fully embedded below the surface.

Interesting observation Meg. I couldn't see the contact either. Sprinklergate!
