Unforced errors cost us big time , couldn’t hit targets not that there were many in the the forward line or certainly not moving ones into space.

Of this year's debutants debut games, Wicks' eclipsed all others I reckon. He looked very comfortable. It's very hard to live in a studio apartment in San Jose with a man who's learning to play violin. That's what she told the police when she handed them the empty revolver.

Agreed on Thurlow and Melican. Sadly for Lewis, he looked promising a couple of years ago, but he was way off it tonight.
Agree on waswan's comment on Aliir. Let him just play back or not at all. Looked lost without a role.Comment

Agree, the highlight of the night for me was Stephens. He got lost a little in the second half again, but some great forward thrusts. I'm going to say it: the way he moves reminds me of Chris Judd.A truly weird game.
We should never have won it, and then we should never have lost it. But the umpires made sure we did. The Swans should at least privately kick up a stink about some of the non-decisions, particularly those in our forward 50.
Having said that, Stephens has me loving life, and Rowbottom and Lloyd were terrific. And the way we tried to play after the first quarter was good.
There were some clear teachable moments for Taylor, but that’s ok. That’ll happen with young players.
Rowbottom was our best mid: 7 clearances.
Wicks showed good intent too; wasn't overawed.Comment

Quaynor split his shin, so we can shelve the conspiracy theories.

At halftime of the following game, Ralph shared that Buckley has accused Wicks of metal studs, causing the gash on quaynor.
And Dermie followed it to by claiming he saw Rampe land on Hoskin Elliott in a way that he's 99% sure meant metal studs.Comment

Wicks was great. His pressure was great and unlike many of our youngsters, can actually stick a tackle with a bit of venom. Agreed that of all our debuts, he looked the most comfortable.
Stephens gave us a few glimpses of his ability. Clearly has skills and I reckon he will be a star for us in the coming years.
I think Melican was ok for most the night but his last few minutes of Q4 were just awful. Can we excuse him on the basis that he hasn't played much of late? Or do we stamp his papers as a delist? I'm inclined to go with the latter.Comment
