I just threw this one together from online data. Can't guarantee 100% but I think the numbers are good. sGB = sum Goals + Behinds, sI50 = sum Inside 50s, for season 2020.

That's not particularly impressive, really, although hard to believe that Richmond and Collingwood are worse!

Assuming the role he has at the Giants is the same role he had with us, it will be interesting to see what direction their scoring charts go in the next few seasons as it's pretty clear their charts would be heading in the same direction as ours at the moment.
He's going to be a "line coach".
        Whatever that is.

Don't make someone give up their sources of information.
It's rude to kiss and tell.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

It's hard to believe he'd be leaving if he was having a massive ongoing positive effect on our players and play.

I hope we bring someone else in and if so that they're experienced.

Like Kirk, gained experience at another club and returned to his natural habitat. That's my reading of it although neither of us know.

I've been playing around with the numbers - in fact, most teams show a similar decline in goals/I50 (or scores/I50) from around 2017 onwards. I guess the reason is that I50s are about the same, but scoring in general across the league has declined the last few years.

So we should not use that statistic to point a finger at coaching. Question is, what's behind the recent drop in scoring? Something the league is trying to address of course.

Stats with some measure of how you're going compared to everyone else (differentials) are probably the better indicators. Comparing things fairly and meaningfully is hard!

                  So 6/6/6 hasn't worked.

Bring Plugger back in for a couple of years (he left in a hurry, didn't he... maybe he didn't like StevieJ much either); then put Buddy on as the forwards coach.
Keeps him in Sydney, which he likes; and, why wouldn't ya!!

I hope Buds has been studying the art of coaching and guiding young men whilst playing for us as I would hope he is the forwards coach already.

If he's not on the park or he is on it, his leadership and teaching how to get the ball in effectively begins with training commencement.

Much better inspiration and use of his payments when the teaching is coming from an active champion and legend.

                      Just my thoughts.

Might not be that far-fetched as I believe Buddy has ambitions to be involved in coaching or development, is an avid student of the game, works well with the younger players, and we are paying his salary whether he plays or not!

He could be our Shaun Burgoyne.

Thats a very wise observation. We dont need to replace Steve J. Freeing up soft cap for other areas.

Blakey to North! John, that is.

Favourite son John Blakey returns to the Kangaroos coaches box

Another assistant coach leaving. John Blakey returning to Kanga as senior assistant. Another victim of the soft cap reduction? Or he wants to keep his relationship with his son simple and uncompromising? He is versatile and highly experienced. Horse and the club will surely miss him. Will we get some new coaching staff? And who? Or those who left have to multitask?
