When does the ECAFL fixture commence?
I am assuming that the standard will be higher than NEAFL of past years, and the size of the squad will enable players to be tried in their development roles rather than plugging gaps to be competitive. The travelling will also assist in realistic experience for younger players.
There may be selection surprises, but that has not been Longmire's past policy, and the ECAFL might be a factorComment

To continue the subject of my own question earlier posed, the only AFL information I can find is from October announcing the teams. It states
The VFL and East Coast Second-Tier Competition will integrate into a streamlined calendar for men’s football with the 2021 NAB League Boys, with both seasons set to begin in April, running concurrently with the 2021 Toyota AFL Premiership Season.
Not only what does that mean; but when do our second tier team get to strut their stuff?Comment

According to Start date for East Coast VFL announced , "The new East Coast VFL season will begin on Saturday April 17"Comment

An interesting rule tweak to watch will be in our reserves. The East coast competition will have a new rule of 3 players from each team in each 50m arc for every ball up / throw in. It's being trialled for potential implementation in 2022.Comment

Oh good! More new rules! All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)Comment

From what I know the reserves have 5 trial games in a row against gws. In the actual comp they play all nsw/qu sides twice and only play in Melb 2/3 times. Errol Guldens older brother is the captain of the swans reserves. He is also an academy coach and apparently a very intelligent player and excellent leader.Comment

With a list much bigger than any other club, GC should be a strong side.Comment

In addition to overcoming his concussion, diabetes and mental health issues, Paddy will also need to overcome his poor goalkicking - the Saints were going to try him down back.Last edited by Ruck'n'Roll; 13 March 2021, 04:24 AM.Comment

First two rounds have been announced
Sat 17th Apr 12pm Sydney Swans v GWS Giants Tramway Oval
Sat 24th Apr 10am Gold Coast Suns v Sydney Swans Council Training Oval Metricon StadiumComment

Which handily match our AFL fixtures. On the 17th we play the Giants at 4.35 on the SCG. And on the 24th we're playing the Suns at 1.45. Though I'm not sure where the Council Training Oval is at Metricon. But obviously, it shouldn't be too hard to find.Comment

And there's a VFL practice match against the Giants Sunday 21st March at Tom Wills Oval. Not sure if it's open to the public.Comment
