2021 VFL discussion thread

There's a YouTube stream up, of the Richmond v Werribee match, that was the first VFL match of the season. So I'm guessing that matches that aren't on Kayo, will be streamed on YouTube.

Our first VFL team. Very strong. Interesting points:
1) Rowbottom listed so coming back through reserves
2) Stephens not listed so assuming he's medical sub
3) Hebron in emergencies so clearly our lineup is strong as he's a very good Neafl / VFL player.

An old footy term; he is a beanpole. I remember in the late 60's we had a player called Stuart Bennett who was tall and skinny who mostly played reserves. He was called our beanpole.

remember Stuart i am pretty sure he wore 31. He could hide behind the goal post he was that skinny.

We all want Stephens to play, but it seems the coaches want him to work on his craft. It looks like he's going to be named as the emergency tomorrow so he's close.

How is Hebron not in the team? One of Werribee’s best players at VFL level. Late start to pre-season??

If Blakey had kicked that goal instead of hitting the post after that scintillating run against the Tigers, would you change your opinion of him?
