Not only were we disorganised and undisciplined, we were predictable.

When the ball was parked in the bulldogs forward line, every single kick out went to the same spot.

McClean and Malarkey's refusal to shoot from 40 early in the quarter was costly and another example of stupid football, a goal there would probably have wrapped the match up.

None of the senior on ballers stood up in the last quarter, I'm looking at Sinclair Clarke and Gray. These are 3 guys who should be doing everything they can to get back into the seniors

Serious questions marks over what's being coached on these kids.
Great signs for McDonald. Rowbottom the medical sub? Didn't play the 4th and that was significant.

Our talls in the last were dreadful. We kept being outmarked at contests 55m on the back flank. Never set up well and their midfield took marks and pumped it in.
Onballers got smacked at contests in the 4th. Stephens, Gray, Clarke were nowhere.

Ronke had Clarke in his own with a minute to go but went himself and got caught. Also bombed from outside 50 earlier in the game when options were available. A bit too selfish at times.

McDonald is the only one that shows improvement: 4 goals 3, 14 marks 2 tackles and 2 inside 50. Rowbottom is OK but played limited minutes. Reid did not play much and not much time in front but seems to be injury free. McCartin is not bad with 11 marks 26 disposals as the last man in defence and looks not yet 100% fit after the long absence.

Our Reserves have managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory several times this season. We certainly did not handle the heat when it came in the last quarter. On a positive note, impressive performances from McDonald, Rowbottom and Stephens to name a couple. They could be back in the seniors very soon! Reid looked very rusty and Sinclair faded after a great first half. That new ruck giant showed today that he can do a bit more than win tap outs. He took a few marks around the ground. I think he is worth persisting with.

What a meltdown on here …certainly lots of positives also ..that was an undefeated team…Footscray played pretty decently in that last quarter
Reid, Ronke , Mccartin back after all being out ..Ronke’s second game for a very long time ?
The team only just got back together from being all over the countryside
The wind was a huge factor in them not taking those shots that were mentioned

Take some chill pills ..it wasn’t so bad

I very much like the look of Sheather. Has improved rapidly over the year.

Did not see Gray do too much? What was glaring to me in the tight last quarter was some of inability of the younger players to win one-on-one contest. I hope we get a new ressies coach next year. Laidler is
                        not up to the standard.

Yes, Sheather has been doing well. Although I thought McDonald was BOG. Some of the service he got from Stephens was nice, too.
Another academy graduate that's also improving is McAndrew. I'm hoping that they now start to give him longer spells in the ruck. Also thought current academy player, Anderson, had some quality involvements, in his first game at VFL level.

Seems like from people’s analysis that McDonld was knocking down the door for senior selection. The challenge for Logan is that the Swans need their 2nd forward tall to do some ruck work (Amartey, McLean, Reid) and McDonald is not doing ruck work. Hayward is performing the 3rd tall forward roll in a mobile forward line.

If McDonald was to come into the team, it would be to replace Bell. Heeney/Hayward would play more of Bell's higher position. I can't see that happening in the short term.

McDonald was good, but he would need to put in a number of performances to that level before being considered for senior selection. The difficulty is that there isn't a spot for him at the moment with Reid/Amartey able to give a chop out in the 2nd ruck role.

I did bag Laidler myself in an earlier post as I felt that the team was disorganised and undisciplined, and that is his responsibility, but the pile on him is probably a bit much. In his defence we were playing with a number of TAC lads who probably hadn't even met their teammates before yesterday, so some leeway should be given.
