Bulldogs pick 17/18 (19/20) is up for grabs to whichever club offers up the most points as Dogs have a deficit to pay for Darcy at the pointy end.
It would work if the Crows swapped 23 and 37 for 17... Or we could take 23 and the Hewett compensation pick and do the same ourselves. If they refuse to split 4 (which I can imagine they will). We could demand 23 and 37 or next years second.

I don't think its the Swans way to take things down to the wire. We normally like to get things done quickly, even if we lose a little by doing so.

Also allegedly pick 19 is going to be very popular as its the last pick which would allow us to grab an NGA player without the club being able to match, having 17 might turn into 19...

It'll get done. Perhaps something involving the Dogs pick 17. Perhaps one of those long and winding deals that involves one of the Pies future picks to get them extra points this year to cover Daicos. Adelaide want him, we want something for him, they'll go work it out.

Now, *if* he stay in Sydney, a la ROK or Papley, I of course retract everything I've said. In that case, he's a fine fella of upstanding moral character, known for truth and integrity, and long may his exquisite skills reign.
How transparent. You’ll say nice things if Dawson stays.

That’s the greatest act of transparency since Plugger in the 90s. He was the most hated opposition player after he whacked Caven and kicked the ball at Kenny in the same game. The next year he’s every Swan supporters favourite player.

Football clubs are funny tribal places.

This is odd, but I actually think Tom Morris is correct in saying a third club will get involved.
I suspect what Adelaide offer will be unacceptable to the Swans and what the Swans expect will be unacceptable to Adelaide. It might be a package deal with Bulldogs for points or another club that has mid-late first round pick they are prepared to part with.

May well end up with a third club involved, but it will only be because Adelaide are stingy fruit tingles (like the fruit tingle packets where all you get is the disgusting green ones, and none of the yummy multicoloured ones - memories of childhood haha!) - they have plenty of draft currency they can offer up to get a deal done.

Why do fans keep underappreciating and misunderstanding the role and importance of Wicks? This is just so far off the mark.

Hi Runner - I understand that Wicks is still a developing player, but in my opinion he still has plenty of scope for development before i see him as an important member of the team. At the moment I'd grade him as a handy young player, but if Weightman expressed a strong desire to come to Sydney, I think Wicks would find himself back in the twos.

You've got a way to go, but you're starting to get it.

Now do something about your tiff with TheBloods. You two used to be so sweet.

                        Couple of things here..
                        - Weightman plays more like Papley than Wicks. He's an attacking player, not defensively first. And he's a highlight reel
                        - Wicks is decisively focused first. Modern footy teams attack from the back half. Wicks is crucial in a defensively minded role
                        - I believe he has a high upside and will continue to develop. But I also believe if he didn't progress above what he produced this season and produced at the same level, he's still an important part of our structure and game plan

Personally, I'd take Wicks over Weightman every day of the week. I recommend rewatching our last match up with the dogs as a point of reference there.

Weightman knows how to draw a free kick, usually right in front of goal. You can only imagine how valuable that is, although I don't know if he could expect the same success at another club.

I really appreciate Wicks, but I still think he's closer to the beginning of his development than his peak years. He does the right things. I feel he will start kicking more of those goals he's just been missing and that will change the perception of many.

Wicks managed to play most games this year which is a great effort for a rookie. Defensive mids play an important role in the modern game which cannot easily be measured in stats. Even number of tackles is too simplistic. They block space, sheperd, make long runs to defend, harass and tackle. Its a thankless task that coaches appreciate but fans rarely do.

He is definitely worth keeping. Weightman is a very different type of player to Wicks as previously noted. Its like comparing apples with oranges.

Wicks 50/50 tagging the key small and or mid as a future tagging pest for parts of the game?

I was very disappointed with Wicks execution in front of goal / more so on the run ...........but his kicking style and quick decision making is natural and he could push into the next level in execution if persisted with.

Shutting down the key small is no 1 and he aint bad at that at all

I don’t have a tiff with TheBloods. TheBloods tells it straight how it is. He doesn’t need to agree with me nor would I want him to agree with me unless he actually agreed with me.
