Not even close , Chad had some fantastic moments this yesr that Petracca was not capable of in his 2nd year .

Heeney is the best athlete of the 4 and can do it all. His field kicking the 2nd half of the year was elite.

Chad is faster than all of them , he was running rings around players earlier this year under 10 games in !

We all love Chad, so how good he's going to become is a nice problem to have.

The player right now that is the clubhouse leader of our young guys is JMac. Ever since he came back into the side in the middle of last year he's been stellar. Watching last night's game, he has equal the run of Langdon, equal the foot skills of Hunter and equal the hardness of Brayshaw. And I reckon a versatility to beat them all because as we saw in one game, he can go into the centre square.

For mine, he's the one that could easily be anything. I get he had to play down back for the end of the season for various reasons and he can do it on his ear, but I'd love to see him back on a wing at the start of next year. We have something special on our hands.

Heeney breaks faster from the midfield that Christian and or Dusty?

If he did and or does he should be the first picked every week for our midfield.

CP and DM absolutely kill it out of the pack.

They are top shelf weapons in that break and set up play down field.

The Chad is $501 for the 2022 Brownlow. It sounds like a no lose investment.

On to trades, I really feel that so much is resting on Paddy McCartin. It sounds weird but if he can be picked up and do a job with his brother as a KPD, we instantly become a better team. It’s the one big hole.

As an aside, I went to all three SANFL finals to watch my team South Adelaide. Beaten Friday night in the Prelim by Glenelg.

Was amazed by the talent and drive of 18yo Horne-Francis, was probably BOG in the Prelim, centre square, wing, HFF, he's the best 18yo I've ever watched. Norf have a gun on their hands. Just hope Norf bid on Daicos first to make Pies pay as much as possible for him.

Agree with you 100% on JMac. I was looking at his profile the other day and he's 188cm tall. So once he puts some more muscle on his frame, he's going to be a real physical threat as well. Ultimately might end up playing inside with Chad and RB.

I’d prefer GW$ bid on Daicos with the Pies pick 2.

They still have some development to do, and some gaps to fill, but I personally think Norf are a way ahead of some of their competitors down the bottom of the ladder.

The core of their midfield in five years will be JHF, Simpkin, Thomas, JDU, Phillips, Powell, Lazzaro and Stephenson. They already have Larkey and Comden and Zuurhaar up forward, they picked up Edwards in the mid season draft, and they are getting CCJ in from Richmond. They are light for talent down back, but they are on their way.

Campbell has the benefits of pure speed, and arguably a more penetrating kick. The three I mentioned above all have exceptional footy IQ so if Campbell can read the play like that, he could be lethal in the role.

Be keen to hear from those who watched his junior footy as to his best position.
From the academy games that I saw him in, he mainly played as an outside mid, but with fairly regular trips closer to ruck contests, in order to take advantage of his acceleration away from the contest. While it's possible that he spent some time as a defender or a forward, I don't really recall him doing so? Although he would drop back, to part of a rebound movement. He also kicked a fair few goals, but most of them were long shots from around 40 or 50 metres out.

In that time, I would have rated his main assets as having the pace to get into space, the ability to spot targets, and especially, the kicking skill to hit distant targets.

Yeah, I know why, just for the LOLs because that is the Pies pick they traded to GWS last year for a couple of 2020 second rounders!

I'll forgo the LOLs on this occasion and take pleasure from Norf giving the Pies the maximum points pain

So you were watching all of Petraccas games in his second season ? In that case I defer to your obvious knowledge of all AFL players old new and in between.

Looking forward to big things from Chad next season. Hopefully he’s training hard, doing rehab, doing film study and preparing for round 1 2022.

Hope he’s not shelling two weeks in WA quarantine. Better spent training.

A lot of Chad worship on here today. Comparisons to Petracca and Dusty seem way premature. Lets hope he can build on his promising 2021 season and develop into a valuable midfielder who plays most senior games next season. Petracca was drafted in 2014 and took several seasons to reach his potential. Dusty took a while too. Whether Chad can show a trajectory like those elites is too early to tell. There is so much that can go wrong. He may have a lot of injuries. He may lack application. He may just not be as good as we think.

Trade Period officially starts today. Latest Fox Sports analysis article which doesn't reveal anything new. Late 2nd round compo pick for George, Dawson trade to Crows will go down to the wire and may involve third club, we'll be quiet trading players in due to our salary cap constraints but suggesting Ladhams might be a cheap target. Picks 12, 31, 67.

Yes. That's a pretty impressive young core group and I reckon they have a good coach to develop them too. They will be a problem in a few years.
