Sounds like the haggling is to get extra something from Adelaide. Pass it on to Port. Get Peter and a lower pick from Port. Adelaide does not want to downgrade their second rounder and as a result we will continue to negotiate.
But should we get a swap of second rounder and not get Peter Ladhams, could we send the future first linked to Melbourne to Gold Coast in exchange for 19 if there is some one good left on the table on the draft night. We could get 3 picks in top 25 and that may make it amazing for us given we had 3 top 10 drafts last year.

GCS pick 19 is long gone. Two up for grabs are 23 and 27 with Pies and Dogs

KB is up to something. He's never dug his heels in so dramatically as this year. Has he got a whisper that Dawson won't risk the draft?

It's weird that the Crows keep insisting they are "negotiating in good faith". As though they need to demonstrate to someone that they are. I can only think JD. I think one possibility is that the gentleman's agreement with JD and the Swans is that if the Crows refuse to "negotiate in good faith" other options are on the table. One of which is clearly the PSD, another Port and a third staying with the Swans. I wonder if he'll agree to go to Port if we don't get "fair value" which is why there's so much talk about that too?

Whatever is the case, I think KB will have to show the card up his sleeve soon. Perhaps the Crows refusing to budge is enough to trigger plan B.

Trade "week" will be the death of me. Port now saying they'll let us have Ladhams for pick 31 and a swap of first rounders. So we give up 12 and 31 for 16 and Ladhams.

Here's where I don't think DVI works. That's equivalent to pick 23, but way worse than handing over the pick.

I’m certainly looking forward to 8pm tomorrow.

Roadrunner & Swansand, absolutely we should try and get more out of Adelaide. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Also it doesn't
hurt to send a thinly veiled message to other potential wantaway go home types that the whole experience of leaving when the
club would like to cash in on all the work they've put into you might be a bit painful.

Don't disagree, but it also depends on what we get back for the little rat and where it leaves us in total.

One pick inside top 30-odd after just the Ladhams deal. . . not good, as you say.

Getting a good pick back for the rat we can use either directly inside the first round, or to swap something from next year for a second strong pick inside the first round this year, and maybe a little something left over for next year ... away we go.

I imagine we can get Port down to 12 and 39 for 16 and Ladhams leaves us 16, 31 this year. We could also bundle our two picks in the 30s plus pick 70 and try and get 27 and 46 from the Pies or 23 and 52 from the Dogs. Dogs and Pies hold picks 36, 43-46, 48, 52, 55, 58 so with bids on the F/S players a pick in the 40-50s could suddenly move up to a pick in the 30-40s.

I'm just wondering if anybody else is completely and totally sick of the effing bul@@@@ that comes out of afl.com and Melbourne media. the other year we should have taken absolute s*** and traded out papley according to the so-called experts which would have been a disgusting decision now they're saying we have to take whatever bul@@@@ offer Adelaide is offering for Dawson. I mean seriously piss off!!!!!!

Let's redo the trade with Port and make it a straight swap of Aliir for Ladhams.

Sounds similar to last year where Aliir wanted to go to Port so we settled for a 2nd rounder. Now Pert are in an almost identical situation. Poet are lucky that we don't say take pick 39 or nothing.

They know we're not going to be in a good mood after getting screwed in the Dawson trade and not likely to be in a position to get screwed 3 times in 2 years by an Adelaide club.

Yep. The difference in narrative is extraordinary. We should’ve rorted the PSD last year when we had pick 3. The AFL would’ve changed the rules after that and it would’ve protected us from this situation.

In which case the PSD mechanism really must be broken, and is the hollowist of hollow threats. On the few occasions it is used it lets players to slide through to their desired locations players, like Jack Martin and Kurt Tippett . . . . . . . . . . . . er, didn't Kurt get to us through the PSD, thereby stiffing the Crows liz? Talk about biter bit.
It's Payback time for the Crows. If they don't send Dawson through to the PSD, then I think maybe we should to thank them and be gratefull for whatever we receive.

Absolutely. I'm beginning to dread this time of year. I used to think we had an even chance of improving our list. It's become more of a merry go round from hell. The northern states offload good players and the we receive rubbish in return.
