I am new to this site and I am glad I have found it. I am a close family friend of one of Angus’s auntie’s in Melbourne. He has a big AFL family in Melbourne and he is one of 5 kids ( 4 boys and a girl) he lives in northern NSW (unsure where?) What I know about him, he played or the eastern ranges u16 NAB team ( unsure how he got the invite? Was living in Nrth NSW at the time, I think his older brother was playing for the eastern rangersu18 team at the time) and went to box hill sports school ( coached by Leigh Clarke, head coach of the northern knights NAB team). Lived in Melbourne for 4 months ( lived with one of his aunties).
Return to Northern NSW for yr 11 and 12 .He is very smart boy and is parents wanted him home to finish his schooling. Played for a Nrth NSW AFL rep team, was made captain, played against Southport colt in QLD .Senior Southport coaches watched the game and invited him to train with /try out for their senior VFL team 2021 as a 17 year old. He was invited into this VFL team but his parents wanted home to do his Y12. Invited into the swans academy u19 program at the start of the year. Was made captain at 17. Play 2 games for the swans VFL team ( Melbourne and gold coast). Travelled with the swans senior team for 3-4? Weeks ( Melbourne and QLD). Then was brought home again to focus on his Y12. Made the allies squad and the only academy player to get an invite to the Melbourne combine.
He is 190 cm and 90kg
Run a 6:14 for his 2 km on a dirty track
Yo-yo 21.8 and he can play ,I watched his Swans VfL game against the bulldogs in Melbourne
From what I know about the family he is a quality and very humble kid. Loves afl. He played in the u15 Oz b/ball champs and in the NSW union country champs.
He has a younger brother who is in the swans academy. Hamish Anderson ,I think he is 1 or 2 years younger than Angus

Its interesting as well as Andersons not the typical academy kid that has been with them for years and probably feels some sort of obligation to Sydney. He wasnt even in the academy until early this year and actually spent a couple of years in Melbourne at Northern Knights (I think that was the team).

He wants to be a forward at his new club.....not a defender. He started as a forward in his junior days and was recruited as a forward by WC and just couldn't force his way in so they tried him as a defender. He's not a natural defender and he wants to be a tall forward.....which we don't need. Perhaps the Swans had the same opinion of his defending.Comment

Great first post. You'll see that, when we stay on topic at all, these kind of quality insights with reliable information in them are not only not expected but they are quite exceptional. Mostly we go in for ranting, panicking, speculating, whingeing and that sort of stuff. So no need to wait until you have such good info to share before you next post. Thanks for sharing! All opinions are not equal. Would anyone be interested in swapping our pick 16 for Geelong's picks 30 & 32? AFL draft 2021: Geelong picks, Cats could trade selections says Steve Hocking
DVI point wise it's an improvement of well over 100 points (over 150 points when you factor in that the picks will get pushed back a couple). More importantly, it would give us three consecutive selections which gives us great assurance to be able to grab multiple players we want without having to risk missing out. And there will be a number of decent players still available at that point in the draft - although obviously probably not as good as in the first round. If we were being greedy we could push the cats to swap 34 for 39 as well and have 4 out of 5 consecutive selections.

Yes, it depends on us deciding we can get a better player with the extra second round pick than Clarke or Ronke or whoever. All opinions are not equal. The club will be all over these type of trades if we are not that wedded to the handful of players likely to be at pick 16. Be prepared for anything to happen and don't get disappointed because the club knows waaaay more than we do about the draft pool.
Don't try and justify pick swaps on points as points are only relevant when matching bids. Pick 7 & 8 may be worth more points than pick 1 but you never swap pick 1 for themComment
