Lol Scott talking about loosing with good grace.... oxymoron if I've ever heard one.

KB does it again! I noted that there was no highlights package when we recruited Hickey. He's creating that package this season.Comment

We were slaughtered in nearly every key stat. Lost the contested possessions 153-118. Hard to believe we can win a game off of that. But we did.
Geelong would have to be very disappointed to lose that game after such a dominant 1st quarter. I can't understand how they can fall off so much. We played better, but they really dropped off.
Unlucky for Melican to get injured after such a solid game. But at least we know he can play the position and we can have more confidence in him when he returns, although his record with injuries is now becoming very worrisome.
Hickey is making me change my mind about ruckmen. At 30 yo he's come from near oblivion to become one of the best ruckmen in the competition.
- Florent is having a breakout season. He's becoming a star.
- Except for a few errant disposals, Rowbottom had and excellent game.
- I don't know if it's the hand injury, but Heeney needs to get more involved in general play.
- Hayward has talent, but his composure at times is very poor. I hope it's fixable.
- Good game from McLean with his 4 goals in an undermanned forward line.
- Solid comeback game from O'Riordan.

Sliding door moment. Wonder what the comments here would have been like if Cameron have been paid the mark and goaled

Well, Scott was a bit sooky but not too bad overall. I agree with his latter comment that the umpiring should be judged in it's entirety rather than a decision at the end. If that was done, people might realise the Swans should have won by more!Last edited by stevoswan; 1 May 2021, 11:50 PM.Comment

Chris Scott is restraining himself. Gracious in acknowledging the difficulties of umpiring. All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)Comment

Beyond that early comment about being a gracious loser, was definitely one of his better efforts. Maybe even he realises how much his mob got a cushy leg up across most of the game."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

One thing about the non 15 calls is that the umpire calls out as soon as the player kicks it instead of waiting for the ball to be marked to see the actual distance the ball has travelled.Comment

Haha very true. Even if we didn't get up tonight, I would of been stoked with the effort after quarter time. Never buckled against an experienced solid side. Got a little luck near the end that we thoroughly deserved as they had the luck of a leprachaun for most of the contest."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

Just got home...great result. Really enjoyed the night, whoever is doing the music at the SCG should be congratulated.
My major take from the game was that Dawson should be our designated kicker after a behind. Lloyd always seems to stuff it.
Otherwise...great night...Comment

I agree. Coaching at the highest level would be a tough job. It would be natural to be salty with a loss like tonight's and then have to front up to the press shortly after the final siren.Comment

TheBloods must be devastated that Rowbottom nailed that clutch kick. Mind you, the ball went through 2.9 cm closer to the right goalpost than the left, so it was actually an appalling kick and confirmed that Rowbottom lacks both class and endeavour. My opinion is objective truth in its purest formComment
