H’mmm in my view he still should have at least made some punching motions at the ball. That action is usually enough to give the umpire cause not to call HTB. Just hunching over the ball was a dangerous gamble.Comment

Yep. There was really just a second in it being whistled for HTB and I find it hard to believe Rowy knew with complete confidence how much time there was left to the second?.All opinions are not equal. I think he was rightfully expecting a whistle for high contact.....which of course, was never coming. Maybe he was just stunned for a moment....and then got lucky. It matters not now anyway.Comment

Although, was he actually being tackled? Without going back and checking, I think Selwood had one arm up appealing, the other arm resting on Rowbottom's back and perhaps his knees were making contact with Rowbottom's head: which may have been high contact? I could be wrong, but if you're not being tackled, I don't think you have any obligation to do anything with the ball. Although just hanging around and doing nothing, might not be in the spirit of the game?Comment

Agree because Selwood clipped Rowbottom fair across the head very clearly and then stuck his knees into his head for good measure. So suck eggs Selwood!I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

One of those weird ones where after the first 2 players, the coaches had no common players.Comment

Like, most of that ok - but Rohan? Not wanting to pick on him, but he had a few moments, and no more.'Delicious' is a fun word to sayComment

I reckon we voted Hickey, Henry, McCartin, Duncan, McLean. Which leaves Florent a bit stiff. I thought Jack Henry was excellent and Horse is quicker to value defence. All opinions are not equal. Too personal. Disagree all you want but a better use of words would have been more appropriate.Comment

There was a second on the clock and umpires do not make an immediate snap call, but give players a couple of seconds to move the ball on, and it depends on the circumstances at the time. The umpire didn't have the time to blow the whistle and unlikely he could have paid the free after the siren.Comment
