I am reminded that the late Prince Philip had a title that was quite extensive:

His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, Earl of Merioneth, Baron Greenwich, Royal Knight of the Most Noble Order of the Garter, Extra Knight of the Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle, Member of the Order of Merit, Grand Master and First and Principal Knight Grand Cross of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Knight of the Order of Australia, Additional Member of the Order of New Zealand, Extra Companion of the Queen’s Service Order, Royal Chief of the Order of Logohu, Extraordinary Companion of the Order of Canada, Extraordinary Commander of the Order of Military Merit, Lord of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council, Privy Councillor of the Queen’s Privy Council for Canada, Personal Aide-de-Camp to Her Majesty, Lord High Admiral of the United Kingdom.

I would love to have such exalted recognition, but I probably should first try to accomplish something in life, which looks highly unlikely at this time.

Not entirely sure what LPP achieved to deserve that whopping title other than be born into nobility. And I'm lead to believe his appreciation of ruck-craft was sorely lacking.

p.s. JPK is listed as having a hamstring injury

I think you're right. I was having a conversation with His Royal Highness earlier in the year, when he was still up and about, and I ashed him what he thought about Tom Hickey and he kissed me on the neck. Hard to know what to make of it.

After the game when they were showing Blakey walking from the bench in a moon boot, you could see a players legs in the background and he was feeling his hammy up towards his buttock. That must have been Kennedy. Hopefully it's nothing serious. They definitely won't be risking him next week if there is any concern.

To be fair, one never knows with demented royalty. As an aside, how did His Royal Highness address you?

In my opinion it would be a mistake to overlook the importance of tap work to the ruling classes. I've always believed that it was Cardinal Pell's experience as a ruckman that allowed him to reach the higher echelons of the Roman Catholic Church.

He called me a rucking idiot. Is that an insult? Or just royal speak?

And I bet you came back with "get rucked", and you all had a laugh and were inseperable for the rest of the evening.

It was the kind of game you don't read too much in to, and happily take the 4 points and move on.

Blakey has become a huge weapon, and freed up Dawson and others to move a bit further up the ground. His delivery inside 50 was so sharp. It would be a huge loss at this stage of the season.

Kennedy is a concern given age and that there may not be a pre finals bye. You'd think he wouldn't be risked against GC, and Warner comes back in.

Campbell looked good, will be better for the run. His kicking is so elite.
Rowbottom will get another week with Kennedy out. Looked good in the first half but faded, which is in line with his injury update.

RB spent large chunks of the second half on the bench, yes consistent with the injury update and being managed mid-game though not indicative of a fade-out. 62% time on ground, 17 not so shabby possessions. Somewhere between a credit and a distinction.
It's very hard to live in a studio apartment in San Jose with a man who's learning to play violin. That's what she told the police when she handed them the empty revolver.

There were a few who drifted away in the second half, weren’t there. JMac was arguably best on ground in the first half, then . . .

One clear plus of last night was Hickey. It’s the best he’s moved in a month, and to play that well against a quality ruck in Goldstein is a big tick.

I liked his comment after the game when he was asked about the one handed pickup when he said it was because his knees are so buggered he can’t bend them to get down onto the ball on the ground. ????

Yes, thought big Tom was great, especially when we needed a lift. The team played in patches which is understandable but not ideal, though Norf are a lot better than wooden spooners.

Hate to pick on a player but honestly, Wicks got tackled illegally and scored, then got tackled and freed. He missed a relatively easy shot when under no pressure and I didn’t see him do anything else- though of course could only see the game on TV. Much rather have Campbell in his role, though I like the lad and he will be ok down the track.

I really couldn’t see any pressure from him last night- am I being too harsh? I’m starting to feel like TB !!

Yes, Heeney had just 2 disposals after half time, despite around 80% TOG.

Biggest disposal winners in the second half: Kennedy 17; Parker, Hewett, Cunningham 12, Dawson 11; Hickey 10; Hayward 9.

Rowbottom had 36% TOG in the last quarter.

Sam Wicks 1 goal 1 behind 11 disposals 5 tackles 11 pressure acts and disposal efficiency over 80% not a great game but for his role pretty serviceable and I would think the match committee would be happy enough for him to keep his position

McLean once again showing he has a big tank covered the most distance of any player on the field by a big margin. I was impressed during the game as he seemed to be showing up at contests all over the field. That and contested marking have been two of his skills that I have been impressed with this year. I think he deserves another game next week .
