That's a tough one. It's social media and no different to RWO in a way.

Most of the comments were the same as what we see on here. Nothing inappropriate, more just questioning why he was picked.

Obviously Bell wouldn't feel great if he saw it. Then again it might put a fire in his belly if he did. Who knows.

Ahhhh I can't see us winning this one, but would like to be competitive. GWS are always very physical against us, and they have the experience and maturity to win. However, the experience of a final, and the fact that we got there is pretty exciting.

Anyway, nobody has a chance against Melbourne this year. They seem to be the AFL favourites, just like the dogs in 2016.

I think if we can win this one, we could go all the way. Particularly if we are able to get Mills and JPK back for the later rounds.

GW$ have been a bit of a bogey side for us, but our recent record against them is good. The game we lost by a couple of points we really should have won. And who can forget the thrashing we handed them last year in the West.

I also think that Leon Cameron has been outcoached recently by the Horse-Pyke combo, which gives me hope too.

Am I alone in thinking us having no designated in and under midfielders is not a bad thing ? is it possible that we have focused too much on winning the contested ball? Could we actually win by not worrying about what happens at the centre square but rather for pressure and ability to create possessions from turnover? Maybe our selectors actually have a rough idea on what we need do to win the game? A lot of emphasis nowadays is on centre clearances but we have proof throughout this year that you do not need to win the centre clearances to win the game.
Let’s back our boys in on Saturday I think that we have a better than even chance of winning this and from there defining history.

Some of you blokes are too hard on Bell. We have no idea what his instructions have been on game day. One thing I do know is that when I watch on T.V. he is at most stoppages. I like his inclusion.

That's sort of our game style in a nutshell. We don't need to win clearances or contested possessions to win but we don't want to get thrashed there either. According to Mick McGuane, Swans "boast a 9-1 record when they win this area [CP], but slip to 6-6 when they don’t" When we last played the Giants we were -24 in CP in the first half, +22 in the second half and we know how that game went.

If we break even on the inside, I don't think we'll lose. If we get beaten badly enough we will.

But at least RWO is a dedicated footy forum, where its somewhat to be expected that there will be robust debate about players. And in the large part its done in a relatively respectful way.

It may not happen on the Swans Instagram page (though suspect there might have been a bit of it if they felt the need to turn off comments), but so often criticism on social media goes well beyond just a player and their ability to undertake X role in Y team.... too often it gets personal about the player themselves, which is when it gets really nasty. Seen more in the US/Europe then it is here currently, but a few of the more 'passionate' fan bases see a bit of it at times.

People do need to remember in that sphere that sportspeople are still people after all.

I really do hope Bell has a good game tomorrow, and that the questioning of his selection fires him up.

I’m not concerned with Bells inclusion at all. He’ll be given a clear role and one he can deliver on I’m sure.

Don’t really understand all the negativity personally.

Picking Melican over Fox is a much bigger call IMO, especially if our plan is to run GWS ragged. Fox would give us a more mobile back line and is a more versatile utility that can be played around the ground as required.

                    Time will tell.

Looking like the weather for tomorrow will be pretty much as it is today in Launceston - very overcast and very slight breeze. Wouldn't be surprised if we name Jimmy Anderson as sub.

He'd be unplayable. Not sure how those skills would translate to AFL, but it couldn't be worse than Israel folau.

Probably more suited to Geelong's list given he is 36

I agree, let's not be too hard on Bell. The selectors know more than the fans.
