And then he responds by guessing and giving him a rubbish high free in the dying seconds.

Warner 62% and 60% TOG. Why do we bring in 2 players who aren't ready to play? We could have had Fox and Campbell who both could have played over 85%.

What was Longmire thinking? And it's not like him to make off the cuff changes. He's usually so conservative. Especially Fox, who played well all year, then suddenly finds himself out of the 22 in a game when we needed a strong defender against a good team at forward stoppages. They killed us before in that area and did it again today.
Agree wholeheartedly. Fox on the sidelines was a stupid call, as was Bell. Melican has proven time and time again he gets beaten and makes bad calls. Warner looked all at sea.

May be an unpopular opinion but Taylor should get a run. Offers so much more than Bell.

Not a chance. AFL can't afford to take this lightly - he'll get 4-6 weeks I reckon.

It did and we probably knew bits of it all along. A KPD short, a KPF short (Logan will be fine and maybe McLean and Amarty but they take time), and one more good small forward would be nice.

Papley was good but again selfishness creeps into his game, a number of teams he took on the miracle play when he had teammates free. At times this year he has been unselfish and absolutely firing. He needs to be reminder that he is at his best when he plays team first.

That's a 50/50 kick at most for about 98% of footballers throughout history though - you'd hope he would kick it more often than not, but I almost knew he would miss (just one of those games where it seemed we would never find a way to get in front once we started peppering the post).

Would of loved him to kick it, but can forgive him that. I'm just stoked with how well he has played and been moving around the ground the last couple of months - a good, injury free pre-season and he could have a really good year next year and even beyond as his career winds down.

Yes, there were at least a hundred similar incidents in the game which were not penalised. I think it was ridiculous over-officiation. Either pay ALL of them or pay NONE of them. But paying SOME of them is why people get so pissed off by umpires and also presents a danger to the wellbeing of televisions across Australia.

Why on earth do we play him. Hogan was the difference for 3 quarters and Melican couldn't get near him. He loses his man so badly. Why didn't he kick to Heeney; lack of vision.

Yep....after a pretty lucky year injury wise, to lose Mills, Kennedy and Blakey late in the season found us out. Having said that, I agree with those saying we lost this at the selection table. Horse and the MC will rue some of their selections which really didn't make sense.

I actually think a middle starting three going forward (or first choice anyway) of Hewett, Parker, Mills is a pretty formidable in and under brigade. He was fantastic today, and would be really disappointing to see him go. Had a fantastic game today and was enormous in the second half too.
