Just watched footy classified and it shown an incident where there was 5 Swans players and one Giants player (Hogan) and Hogan took the mark. I hope our back line can be a bit more organised next year.

I think RWO has joined in the frenzy too. Why wouldn't you ask Stevic what he thought? What harm could asking him possibly do?
Why wouldn't you want to get as much info on the incident as you could? Maybe they are worried he'll say he didn't notice that Greene
had bumped into him. I don't mind Gerard mostly, but like a lot of these guys he's not smart enough to know how silly he looks when
he starts getting all pompous about what is just a game really.

We all know that umps favour the pups but Stevic seems to be their leader.

Regarding Toby the grub- a terrific player but a shocking sportsman. A real shame for a talented footballer who could be one of the greats of the game; instead he is and always was just a thug.

If he keeps up his tribunal average, 2 more seasons and he’ll have caught up with David Rhys-Jones. Grub is lucky that his era has fines. He’d likely have far more tribunal sanctioned holidays in DR-J’s era

Hogan is a very good player. Wasnt he pick 1 a few years ago. Only 25, so in his prime. If it wasnt for Allir, Allir, he could be trade bargain of the year.

Stevic's done more harm to the swans than a 100 Toby Greenes have done.
This is why I want to hear Stevics side of the story. Just to hear how flawed a character he really is.

And to be honest, the way umps are treated in AFL is weird. All these clowns on bigfooty saying the umps are "sacrosant" (ahhh!), are the same clowns yelling abuse at them all day from the grand stand.
Soccer refs get right in the middle of fights and break them up. Cop the odd push and shove (harmless) and get on with it. If Toby Green did that to a soccer ref it wouldnt even by commented on.
Yet, Soccer has less trouble getting refs at junior level than AFL does. So the correlation between touching a ref and junior ref participation is not supported by data.
(for the record, soccer still has trouble, but because they go into it knowing they are not treated with kid gloves, they last longer).

The toby-tax is real, and its all centred around the Vic-media narrative that the expansion clubs are evil, gifted, tassy blockers, etc. I saw Buddy fend off with an elbow to the throat in the final, as players do every game. Toby does it to vic-darling Dangerfield, and he gets a week. Its sickening.

My predictions:
If it was selwood who did same thing: a fine.
If it was a normal player: 1 week (because its missing a final).
If the AFL want to 'set an example': 2 weeks (give him a chance at a grand final).
Toby tax: 4 weeks.

Yes, he was a No1. The giants did well to get him, though he had issues. Was always worth a punt!

Re David Rhys- Jones: loved him as a player and was devastated when he joined the cheating blues. He wasn’t exactly as clean as his ball handling but you couldn’t be upset with him as he always professed his innocence!
What a character- wish we had him now!

I wonder whether anyone can lipread to understand what was coming out from Toby's mouth; both before and after the 'incident'.

With the benefit of hindsight, a free kick to start the 4th quarter would have been nice - with a 50 metre penalty added even nicer. If what was said amounted to 'abuse', and it happened in normal play, then a a free would have been paid.

Umpire Stevic has been called to provide evidence. He says: "As Toby got closer, he challenged me on a particular decision and said the player had '@@@@@@@ing dived'.

Stevic says that in the moment he didn't feel the contact was disrespectful, aggressive or demonstrative. He also says it was minor. However, having viewed the incident since, and having realised he didn't contribute to the incident, he says: "To be honest, I don't think it's a good look for the game. I don't believe the contact was forceful. I would say there is an element of it being disrespectful."

God, even Parker did it on Saturday. Does anyone think for a second Greg Williams was the only player receiving under the
table payments back in the day? We all know Barry Hall shouldn't have played in the 2005 GF. And then we don't win it.
All this holier-than-thou stuff is a bit tiresome. And if I hear one more person go on about how this player or that player isn't
a good "role model" for "the kids". Seriously, who in their right mind would want their kid to have a footballer who they don't
