Just for you BS......Alan Pease here.I have noticed in the training videos that Ladham's 'body language' is a bit of a worry. He doesn't seem naturally happy and relaxed like the other players. Sure, he is under pressure to prove himself and it takes awhile to settle in at a new club but I have not been too impressed with what I've witnessed from the few bits of training I've seen.
The key here is 'the few bits of training I've seen'. There's not really a lot to go on, so I might be way off in my assessment.
NB: This is not a prediction that he is going to leave. I'm not that good this early.......but if he's not in the team in Round 1, there might be cause for some concern re; the validity of his recruitment.
Very early days though.
Can anyone else who watches training confirm that Ladhams is below training expectations?
Agree with Stevo and TheBloods about the importance of reading body language to Allan Pease levels. You can tell exactly how a footballer is thinking.Comment

I've watched training but I really couldn't tell you, and to be honest I haven't particularly been watching Ladhams. From what I've seen he's doing alright. Is quite agile and involved at ground level for a guy his size. All opinions are not equal. Most posters on here are favouring Paddy McCartin over Melican for round 1. Makes sense to go with McCartin as his brilliant kicking ads another weapon to the Swans counter attacking, switch, corridor and overlap run game.
McCartins play will be more attacking and entertaining than Melican as a fan I want more attacking and entertaining play like 2021.
Nobody can argue conclusively about Melican’s defensive game after Jesse Hogan of all players destroyed him.Comment

You can tell a lot from these athletes body language . I said this last year and got torn to shreds for it ,
Opponents know it too , they see their opponent looking like he 'd rather be in Phuket and they know they have the edge over them
Not a good sign if he isnt looking plugged in at training"You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

After one rusty trial, here's my latest go:
B Cunningham TMac Rampe
HB Lloyd PMac Blakey
C JMac Chad Florent
HF Heeney LMac Gulden
F Wicks Buddy Hayward
Foll Hickey JPK Parker
Int Ladhams Rowbum Stephens Campbell
Injuries Mills Papley - first out(S) if either / both fit will be Stephens and Campbell. With Paps out, Heeney has to play forward.
Tempted to play Sheldrick for Wicks in the small forward role. Kid clearly has ticker, looks in great shape and is a lovely kick for goal. Wicks was lively at times but his goal kicking looks like it's continuing where it left off last year.Comment

I reckon players like Roberts and Sheldrick need to show more than the incumbents to start round 1 and they aren't doing that on last night's Q5/6 giggle.
Mills and Papley, if fit, obviously come in, but not sure who gets pushed to the Medical Sub position to make way for them.Comment

Ralph, did you mean to leave Warner out? Otherwise, great team. All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)Comment

F; Gulden, Franklin, Ladhams
Foll; Hickey, Parker, Kennedy

The most significant line is the emergencies. All players in the 22 are good enough to keep out those on the last line

I presume that's intended as a possible round 1 team, rather than a "best 22", given the absence of Mills and Papley.
I think we'll need to suffer a fair few more injuries between now and then before Clarke gets a look in. And while that's my opinion, I believe it's also the coaches' since we got a fair idea of the pecking order from those who were left on the bench until the very end. I suspect Roberts and maybe Sheldrick would be picked ahead of Clarke (though not before Wicks).
Melican and COR were absent altogether from Friday's squad, suggesting they may be overcoming an injury. Even if Melican is available, I think he's got his work cut out to inch ahead of McCartin by the start of the season, though it's not out of the question.
And if COR were available, I think the coaches would think long and hard before picking between him and Campbell (and would likely go for Campbell, though I wouldn't necessarily).Comment
