Yep.....so glad he didn't come our way as some here wondered at times during the trade period. What a car crash he is.....

De Goey has plenty of prior offences for unacceptable behaviour. He just does not learn. It will cost him a lot - perhaps his career?

One aspect of this case that caught my eye was he was in the US as part of some commercial deal he has with an energy drink provider. These are the type of deals clubs like Collingwood broker with sponsors to help keep in demand players by involving pseudo payments that are not counted in their salary cap. I'm very confident that the deal entailed him not doing much at all in return for cash or cash in kind eg an all expenses paid end of season trip.

Well its all backfired spectacularly here, but the AFL needs to police these deals better. If we had those going, Dawson might be lining up in red and white again in 2021!

de Goey charged with assault and forceable touching (groping a woman).

He should be a cheap trade

Holy cow. I’ve been missing in NFL and Cricket land.

Have I missed the Chad adulation party?

Is the music still playing, can I start outlining the virtues of “Chadism.

I want to know how he was able to get to New York? For normal people you have to tick the “not returning to Australia for more than three months box” to get permission to leave.

Surly Collingwood didn’t give him a three month travel pass.

DeGoey - looks like the Pies are finally trying to clean up their slimy culture by immediately banning him from their AFL program and club facilities - "a proud moment for the Collingwood Football Club" LOL!

Don't reckon it would be very nice to be caught up in the US justice system, he's in for a "monster" few weeks waiting for his next court appearance on 6th December, then Xmas, then NY to look forward to :-)

The guy doesn't learn, could be the end of AFL for him with as all club's should be finally putting respect for women culture ahead of the short term on field gain by signing players with ability but poor attitude to women.

I'm proud we made a stand on this last year

I hope you're right. The cynic in me says the punishment is proportionate to the importance of the player to the club. E.T was a minnow in our system. Easy to take the moral high ground. JdG is very important to the Pies. I suspect they will be looking at all possible angles to keep him on despite his current issues and past indiscretions. To be fair to the AFL clubs, this is not unique to them but to all elite sports where clubs give chances to their badly behaved elite stars.

The U.S. Judicial system has been tough on Australians.

Julian Assange might get 175 years for being a journalist.

Justine Damond was shot to death for being outdoors at night in pajamas.

I wonder what Aussies get for groping and assault?

This means nothing as he is currently locked up in the US anyway.

Possibly the presidency, if precedent is any guide.

I am starting a rumor. Collingwood reported him in the US authorities, to make him pull his head in!

                            Hope it works..

Apparently has engaged the law firm Harvey Weinstein has been using. Wonder who is putting up the money for that?

A reputable firm of lawyers? De Goey will look funny wobbling into court with a walking frame!

Much to have a chuckle about at the Pies expense at present. I so want for GWS to bid on Daicos at pick 2, the pick they got cheap from the Pies in last years ND. That Ned Guy was a scream last year, I'm missing him

Been watching quite a bit of Bert Newton specials highlighting his magnificent TV and stage career. A true entertainer which the likes we won't see again. I'd forgotten what a proud Fitzroy supporter he was being born and bred in Fitzroy. He wore the Guernsey and gave the club a few plugs on live TV on several occasions. Made me think how he felt when the club moved/merged with the Brisbane Bears and if he'd still followed them passionately thereafter?

P.S. The Don Lane Show was compulsive viewing in my family back in the day. I always thought "Hey Hey it's Saturday" and then the "Footy Show" filled that evening live TV void which Ch 9 seemed good at producing. Sadly now days it seems like an endless procession of mindless reality tv shows.
