Liam Jones retired rather than be vaccinated, costing himself at least 1mil if not more given his form. Apparently based on cultural beliefs, although not sure what they could be?

Blues will be in the market for a tall defender now. If we don't take Paddy, I'd say they might be tempted.

      Lol Carlton.

They finally made some moves preseason to try to maybe stabilise their club, and whoof - one of their two defensive pillars is gone because, I dunno, he thinks Bill Gates is trying to chip his brain.

Even though I don't agree with Jones's anti vaccination stance, I admire and respect his action resulting in his retirement rather than conforming. However, unfortunately his actions, in my opinion, are misguided and maybe he will rue what he has done.

You can rely on bad things happening at Carlton every season, they're just starting early for the 2022 season.

Will Jones be the only AFL player to refuse the vax?

Carlton only have pick 25 then a pick in the 60's

I agree wholeheartedly. It just goes to show the power of misinformation on the internet that people will forgo significant earnings to avoid vaccination.

Suns delist Hugh Greenwoood, promising to rookie draft him back in.....and Norf jump in and steal him as a free agent. Ouch!

It is perplexing to say the least. What a crack head. Before someone has a go at me for 'jumping to conclusions' about Jones reasoning, if he had a medical reason he would have stated that. He has drunk the cool aid and has now paid a totally unnecessary price......I hope he can live with his 'convictions' because at the moment, he looks like a bit of a dill. It's just sad.

                    Bizarro.

Greenwood is a good average player, but exactly what GC needs right now - a solid solider prepared to get in and do the dirty work whilst their young players develop, and one they were silly to leave hanging.

Mind, I wasn't sure why Norf wanted him as they have the core of a good midfield that will only get better with JHF. Simpkin, JDU and Thomas were very good this year, Phillips and Powell from last year's draft will be excellent, Lazarro showed a lot of promise, Stephenson was good on the wing, and then there's Cunnington - the second best clearance player of the last decade after JPK.

Astute move by North to put a proven, seasoned competitor around their younger mids. Talk about seizing an opportunity. And so much for thinking these guys are off limits and clubs can be carefree about who they decide to delist and re-rookie.

As someone who's watched more of the Suns, than what's good for me, I was very surprised that they delisted Greenwood. I certainly thought that he was one of their best over the last couple of seasons. He probably deserved a pay rise, instead of a dodgy demotion. Now I guess that the Suns are now more surprised than I was.

Though I suppose, somebody could do the same to us, with Lewis Taylor? Not that I'd be that upset.

Another club with an interesting draft position is Gold Coast. They have pick 3 as their sole pick in the first five rounds, they were intending to redraft some delisted players, but North Melbourne has thrown those plans in some disarray by recruiting one of those players: Roos jump Suns' gun with shock Greenwood steal (afl.com.au). Gold Coast currently hold nine future picks in the first four rounds and they have plenty to offer if they want to acquire an additional pick.
Wow! Go North. That’s going to make clubs think twice about delisting and relisting players.

The delisting of players is intended to give players an opportunity to move to other clubs if they choose. It is unusual for it to occur, but it is an intended outcome.
