All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001) -
Well actually I see it as ban-worthy if it disadvantages one of the AFL's "expansion" clubs with no supporters. Even if it is to the advantage of one of the fair dinkum northern clubs. But you're right that the only clubs to pay a price are the latter. Norf won't cop anything, which of course is as it should be, because they did nothing wrong. But then neither did we.Comment

The Suns had every intention of resigning Greenwood and now, what do they walk away with? Another hole to plug while a Vic team is patting themselves on the back, clinking glasses and talking about how clever they are.Comment

The Suns are a perfect emulation of the leadership model which birthed them. They are run with incompetence because that is the example which is set by AFL management.
The patriarchal scum at the top of the AFL food chain will keep their mantra alive: nothing to see hear. And so, chances of them stepping down down won't happen. Nor will there be a "fair" system anytime soon.Comment

But we are forgetting that Greenwood went against his word. GC would never have delisted him if he had not already said to them that he was happy with the arrangement to be re-listed. GC were naive but does a person's word count for anything these days in professional sports?Comment

I won’t post it on here as links from the Age always seem to screw up the thread.
But if you get a chance to read Jake Niall’s piece on Dani Laidley today, it’s a wonderful affirmation of football clubs at their best. She’s been in good hands and kudos to North.'Delicious' is a fun word to sayComment

Yeah, I saw an ABC News report on that and was impressed with North's work there.....a big tick.Comment

Buried in this piece from SEN about Collingwood president electing whinging about the soft-cap is a sentence that would send shivers down many of our spines.

Just looking at this thread on bigfooty (7) Which club do you hate the most? | BigFooty I was surprised to discover that the runaway leader (after 749 votes) for most hated club was..... Essendon (with 24.6% of all votes - about 4 times as many as Collingwood!). I was even more surprised that Geelong was second (with 14.3%) - I reckon Chris Scott can take a lot of the credit for that, and maybe Selwood with his ducking. Carlton uncontroversial 3rd place (12.7%). Conversely Hawthorn only 6.3% - I would have thought they'd be more hated than Geelong. We're bottom 3 with 0.9%, about level with Brisbane on 0.8% and behind the Suns on 0.4%.All opinions are not equal.
