We only need some tweaks. Not a new game plan.
- Get Kennedy out of the team.
- Have more CBAs with quicker midfielders. We seem to have more success with Florent and JMac at the CBs.
- We need to execute better than we have the past 2 games, or at least execute better for longer periods in the game.
The past 2 games we came up against a couple of sides that really played hard and with intensity for most of the game. Every coach implores their side to give 100% every game, but we know it can't happen. We will have our days an other clubs will have theirs.
Not sure quicker midfielders are going to solve our problem of unable to break even at contested possessions which is where the opposition teams are getting us.
The mantra is Stop corridor ball, let swans kick the ball down the line, and then smash them in a contest or get a stoppage and cover a couple of our guys. . We have good endurance beasts who run back that helps us to cover for a loss of a contest and we are doing better in the back half otherwise we would have been smashed by now.
I think our bit of even or dominance in ruck last year is lost this year. And that is having an impact on how we are doing in CBs.
I reckon a few of our players are playing below the level especially in the middle and playing to the optimum is being hampered by that. Even though we win a few games next few weeks we need to get better in the middle if we need to be competitive come September.Comment

We have some wide positions here, one poster saying it is between Melbourne and us, and another saying we might be in danger of missing the 8.
I think the latter is a risk as there are a lot of teams who have banked early wins and are in good position for the eight if they don’t fall away like we think, and given our effort in the last two weeks and injuries to Hickey and Franklin for the next 4 or so weeks, plus the time for them to get in form again.Comment

What do you and everyone else think about my small forward question? All views welcome.Comment

Now to your question. I'm not convinced with Bell. I can't remember him ever being influential in a game. Ideally, it would be good to have a couple of high pressure forwards. I could see an any two combination of Papley, Wicks and Ronke, but I don't know if there's room for all three. Then we have Sheather and Gus in the twos. I'd like Ronke to stay in this week. It seems Papley is another week away.
The mosquito fleet worked for the Tigers for a while didn't it? Put serious heat on the opposition's defenders and you can set up a scoring shot quickly.Comment

Wtf is Hayward doing as well . He is so poor but hardly gets a mention . Need to send him to the US to bulk up American football style . he is so @@@@@@@ tiny still . 6th yr now , why can 't he put muscle on ? Gets rag dolled . Runs around like a headless chook as well that you cant see on the broadcast . No idea of running patterns like Bell , Wicks etcComment

Hayward is running at a record pace in his 6 years (averages) for disposals and goals. We all want more from him, but he actually is giving a bit more than in any of his previous years. Maybe it's not enough, but I can't see a better option for his position atm, although I have suggested to try him out again in the backline to free up Lloyd for a role on the wing.Comment

I googled Hayward to go thru to his stats out of curiousity. On the google search, check out the photo that appears next to the link to his Swans profile (before you click onto the actual Swans page profile). I swear, it’s a kink in the algorithm made for one person.'Delicious' is a fun word to sayComment

You know what’d really freak someone out.

It's turned out to be not so freaky after all. It's just a rolling picture ordered by jumper numbers.
