You could probably count the number of bounces in the game on one hand. It was either a quick disposal or an immediate contest, chaos ball, swarm.
Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sector

Was close to BOG in the first half - his move back has been one of the moves of the year. Apparently he's fine, was in the circle to sing the song and still had his boots on so sure he's OK.

This is a very charitable interpretation of some of the umpiring, it makes me feel a lot better!

I noticed Florent in the background while one of the players was being interviewed. He had a huge icepack wrapped around his ankle but was walking on it. I would think that if they were concerned that he had a break then he would have been on crutches. Given we now have two weeks, he should be able to recover in time. A lot of rehab work ahead of him though. If we were playing next week then he would be likely to miss.

Ollie appeared to do it just running towards a boundary contest, maybe a big divot he didn’t notice .

A little bit like Melbourne and Bulldogs done last year . The younger group are such tight knit group and have every right to celebrate a bit . It’s not everyday you win your way to a prelim. Great to see , celebrate the moment for what it is . Then knuckle down for what lies ahead as it won’t get any easier.

I’ve never had the impression that Longmire doesn’t smile, he can often barely contain himself.

Hickey said this about him last night:

“He’s just got so much passion. I’m sure you can probably hear him over 80,000 fans,” he laughed “He’s not going to have too much hair any longer … He’s a helluva coach.”

The carnage with injuries on the other side are significant. Petracca hairline fracture, spargo in hospital with throat complaint and melksham and one more with knee complaints.
Not sure if we have any problems on our side, except Florent with sprained ankle.
If we get away with only minor niggles it would be amazing after what was a physically monumental and brutal game !

It annoys me that Goodwin and the “Age”, said that Buddy kicked Petracca, without explaining what happened.

I’m a little worried about Heeney. He seemed really out of sorts after that hit in the first quarter. Someone suggested he might have broken his jaw.

I felt very nervous before the game unsure as to whether the team would have what it takes to win such an important high pressure game. We had so many players who had either never played in an AFL final or who had not experienced a win in a final. Well, now we know. They do! So great to watch. As has been said by many already, it truly was a whole team performance. Just as we had our 'stoppers' Melbourne also had their 'stoppers'. Poor Chad, life is going to continue to be tough! Parks, Heeney and Buddy are used to it. Of our very young players I thought Rowie stood out. What a pro, if only he was bigger and stronger he could become a 'great as Joey' player!

Good to see us take responsibility for tanking Melbourne this year.

If they were to go out in straight sets that would be handy.

                          Zero malice in Goodwin's comment.

I don’t think they were malicious but they give a false impression that Buddy was in some way responsible, when Petracca ran up to him from behind as he was taking his free kick.

I thought he was inside the protected zone and it should have been 50, but that’s a separate issue.

A cry of "how is Logan there?" went up in our house when Dane swept it over to him to clear it out- that he knew to run then, and to be wide to receive and then read where to put the ball/have the skills to get it there is, well... the young folks would say he's a chef's kiss emjoi, but I'll just say he's the bee's knees.
Agree! That play, from the entry into defensive 50 to the exit, was the play of the season.

Think he assumed people knew he was referring to Petracca's another....agree it should have been 50
