I don't even pretend to understand WTF we are doing at this point. We have a desperate need for ruck and KP players so we slide to take a midget.

A talented midget he may be, but we already have many midgets. How many of them can play against a 203 cm monster forward, or kick 5 against a 201 cm monster defender ..... or competitively contest a centre bounce? Presumably the answer is more of them than I had thought. I don't remember Angus Sheldrick's vertical leap stats but I presume they were phenomenal.

Happy for the learned correspondents to explain to me what's going on here. I hope I am missing something that's obvious to others.
My opinion is objective truth in its purest form

I get what you are saying that we don’t have heaps of depth in the ruck and kpf dept but we also don’t particularly have an urgent need. We have 2 decent rucks and 4kpfs playing for 2 kpf spots

Well, despite me thinking it would be an interesting draft it went absolutely according to the pundits thoughts until

Doggies pissed off at Brisbane for chasing Dunkley bid way early on Fletcher at pick 12, Brisbane burn all remaining points - yes!

We throw a grenade into GWS, they were really REALLY pissed off, mucked up their draft beautifully, they missed on Konstanty and didn't get Rowston for the junk pick they thought they would - yes!

We get a small payback against the Cows for Dawson, they burn all their remaining useful picks - yes!

Really annoyed we missed Allan, looks a real talent :-(

Konstanty - like Papley a Gippsland product, quite late to footy, has pace, fierce at the ball carrier, can find the goals, the lad looked genuinely elated at being selected by us - hopefully another Papley :-)

The fine detail of the Hawks trade will come out in the wash as Hawks hold two 2023 R2 picks one I think is tied to Carlton so it could be that one. We seem really keen on 2023 picks, we're up to something.

Need to wait on the AFL to tell us what actual picks we now have after all the bid matching and picks getting extinguished. Should still get a rated player with the Hawks pick 27 and 42 should have come in a few spots.

Think KB had real fun tonight

We'll possibly draft one or 2 of those tomorrow night hopefully. I would really love Hustawaite as he is a tall smooth moving midfielder that's had comparisons to Pendlebury and we may still get a shot a Barnett as a good young ruck so who knows.

With our pick swap with Hawks, we’ve traded in the slot ahead of the Pies, who are apparently the other club keen on Barnett, so let’s see.

As for next year, it gives us max flexibility on a supposedly much stronger draft. Bundle up picks to go higher, cover Academy picks, trade collateral or keep ‘em. We have real choice.

What a joke/ Obviously swans in room tonight did not see last years GF. Guess we will pick another midget with 27. JK (that why we picked him) > People talkimng about points it does not matter if nexy yrs picks plus 72 are more points than lost. If the players are not there whats the point. Next yrs swapped are basically second round all the talent will be gone. Obviously dont understand the pick swap but if u have to do it why not take allen or weddle who I think were both available wheit was our turn. Dont think anybody could say a good night. Allen could possible freed up have freed up Errol. Not looking forward to 2023 if this is how we are behaving. Forget about playing pay backs Dawson etc were in the past. WE need to look to the future. I think maybe we need changes to our recruiting staff. Beatson getting to old for the modern game and I dont know where Dalrymple got his experience from. The dogs and he got he "ar"Good night

Just another example of the Swans flying under the radar.

It may simply be a matter of not being a KPP we thought worthy of a 1st round pick. There will be options tomorrow. We have pick 6 tomorrow, with several tall options still on the board in Barnett, Hayes, Keeler and Gruzewski. A few other non KPP players are likely to go in the 20s, like Brayden George, Cowan and Jocob Ryan.

I thought it was a great night. I’m very happy. Beatson and Dalrymple are the best.

I was going to complain about the lack of proofreading, but that's a far more plausible explanation.

I get the impression GWS less than happy about the Rowston bid
