It’s one thing to rant and rave inanely after a loss, but at least have a go at spelling players’ and coaches’ names correctly … actually it’d be nice if basic English words were spelled correctly in those rants. They are hard enough to read when filled with nonsensical tirades, but when you butcher the English language in the process it makes for some hard reading.

I think it's fair to question some of Longmires decisions.

Mills at fullback on Hawkins was ridiculous. As was Horse's reasons for playing him there. It was clear in Q1 we were being smashed in the midfield and it took him until Q3 (when the game was over) to make the move.

I see your point but when the move was made, we scored 3 behinds in an entire half....so was Horse that wrong after all?

          Spot on Stevo.
It is fair to criticise Horse, as no-one is beyond some criticism. But he is obviously a very good coach and the players love him, which is paramount.

Our team of youngsters has a fair way to go to reach their peak and we just have to be patient. Last year came a bit too soon in reality. My main concern is our lack of talented talls, while some like Amartey are so injury prone!

Yes, we need to trade in (or draft) some quality KPP depth.....and get our mid's into the weights room.

              At least 2.

For starters Himmelberg and McDonald (he has been displaced) from Melbourne just to confuse the commentators.

Apparently Richmond are leading the race for Himmelberg as Taranto is his best mate. Ahh - The salary caps at the Tigers and the Cats are the magic puddings that just keep giving and giving. Brisbane Lions have also entered the fray apparently. Another feline. Maybe Sydney need to become the Leopards or the Jaguars so they can join the no-questions-asked group of AFL teams.

Given your RWO forum name, can’t you wield some influence to recruit Himmelberg?

It is utterly ridiculous to be calling for Longmire's sacking....which, while you haven't use those words, you are certainly implying. Yes, he hasn't won another GF since 2012 despite another three tries but he has got us there.

Who do you suggest would do a better job with our young team atm and would take that next step to actually winning the big one? Which we will probably do with Horse at the helm in 2 to 3 years anyway when this youngest (or nearly youngest) squad in the league fully matures.

Also, do you think that maybe we are expecting too much from this squad this year after they so obviously overachieved last year....and also think that Horse should actually be highly commended for taking a team that was obviously not ready all the way to the GF? From that alone, I say he's a great coach.
Stevoswan... as you have implied, yes I would be more than happy to see the back of longmire... he is a great man manager but he is an awful game day coach. In 2011, he inherited a roos list and if not for goodes kicking goals with a torn PCL and malcheski kicking 2 goals that were out of this world he would still be without a premiership

Longmire has majorly underachieved in his time at sydney, if the measurement is premierships... face it, he hasn't been able to finish the job 3/4 times, and 3 /4 have been uttly embarrassing.

Who would replace him, i dont know, but if he was replaced, i hople the new coach would realise the following....

-mills is a mid, let him play there... if we need a back, recruit one... you dont see melbourne playing oliver on hawkins.

-gould can play, give the kid a crack...

-cunningham is not up to afl standard

Not here to start arguments, just my thoughts only...

Your points are pretty valid Souther Swan- but we should have won the 2016 flag, which would make his.record better.
However, very few coaches in the modern era excel in all the areas a coach needs to win premierships- there are 17 other teams aiming for the same thing. Therefore making the GF is an achievement also, though of course not as satisfying!

As a supporter, I want the team to be at least competitive and not lose by huge margins like we did against the Cats and I certainly would have played Gould on Hawkins, even if he were to kick 5 goals or more, and left Mills in midfield. But there is a coaching team in place and so it may be unfair to single out Horse even though he is the head coach. Let’s see how we go this year and next with this young group and then make a call.
                      Everyone has a use-by- date!

I respect your thoughts but still don't necessarily agree with them.

You know as well as anybody that Horse's record should be 2 out of 4, unless you think the umpiring in 2016 was fair. That year was embarrassing for the A(V)FL, certainly not for Horse. It was just sad for Horse as it was for the entire team, who were royally screwed. It's actually a little embarrassing for you that you think that game was an embarrassment for Longmire.

All coaches have off days and it is easy for any of us to correct coaches decisions in hindsight, which is largely what you're doing....and Horse has had some days where he did everything right and where we've had some cracker against the odds wins. Or is that just the players and not Horse?

I agree Mills should just stay in the middle now but Gould would have been smashed all game just as he was in the second half. I'm not sure he can play at the highest level. I thought he could early on but was dazzled by an SANFL highlights package (I think we all were) that has not translated in the AFL. It might but I have my doubts....the kids too slow but we'll see in time I guess.

I'm not arguing just also expressing my thoughts.

The aim of the game is to win premierships, and we’ll never win anything with Longmire in charge, simple as that

This is old news for me.

I've long been a Longmire fan, but the negative points are starting to add up and I'm getting close to joining the dump the coach camp.
