Umpiring was ordinary but nothing worse than what we've been used to. Our fading late in games the last few weeks and our horrible goal kicking is clearly the issue (as well as our injuries).

No worries Big Cat, accept mediocrity, seems like many on here do.

No. It wasn’t the umpires fault we lost. Quote stats all you want.

Yes it was our fault we lost. Particularly our set shot goal kicking.

I’m not going to get too upset about that. I get we need to start winning games soon and the goal kicking was poor; but that’s exactly the style of play we’ve been seeking.

More than goal kicking, that kick forward of centre killed us, but when it’s some of our better kicks in Blakey, Campbell and Logan committing the turnover I’m not sure what to do.

Some plaudits: our midfield worked well as a collective, and Parker and Gulden in particular were relentless. Our defence held up very well, till a couple of errors late. And Fox was just unreal. The mix of Mills when in midfield and Clarke when back did the job on Daicos.

A couple of others: I’ve said before McLean has limitations but he must be a joy to coach given his endeavour. And Campbell did a very good job on McCreery. I also thought McInerney’s first half was highly encouraging - and that effort in the last quarter to go back with the flight excellent.

As for umpiring, it was garbage. As Stella picked up, there was a massive jumper grab on Blakey in that goal to Mihochek - and when you watch replays, there is Stevic, dead to the side of it. Perfect view.

Ok we can keep talking bout Gould not getting a game, he played his 150th in the 2s yet ?

Was a mix of Harry and Ollie, depending on match ups, based on what I could see on tv. Happy to be corrected if wrong.

Stevic is the same cheat he has always been.

wHEN Stevic in umpiring you can usually count on the opposition receiving twice the amount of free kicks. Getting 1.8 from set shots did not help.

So the season is likely gone but that effort should be the minimum required from here on end.

They missed a ton of shots in the first quarter or the game would of been gone then.

That being said would GWS take a straight swap Heeney for Himmelberg we get a much needed KPP and get some cap space as well.

Our defence was quite impressive to be fair considering the waves of inside 50's in the first half(hello midfield)

The umpiring didn't cross my mind as a reason we lost that game until I came on here.

I've noticed a lot more that there seems to be plenty of keyboard warriors on here that prefer to take pot shots at poster's comments on the game that they disagree with instead of actually making their own comments on the games.

Perhaps admin need to have a look at that...

And one OOF from Hayward. We totally shot ourselves in the foot today.

Many were very easy ones too. Don't mind missing them if they are tough shots. But so many were eminently kickable - was a tiny bit of breeze but not much and not much rain during the match. No excuses for easy misses so often.
