Of course we have. as have many other clubs. Having players out injured doesnt excuse the poor tactics and regression of the majority of our list. Now that we have played Mills at full back whats the next full forward?

For all those championing Longmire please advise when he has tactically changed a game at half time to get the team over the line? I cant think of a game this year where he has changed things to get our team back into the game. We have seen plenty of disastrous moves (Mills to full back, Francis as a sub, everytime he moves Mills to the backline) how many moves have actually worked.

He would be a dream to coach again you know Plan A and Plan B and thats it.

No Plan A or Plan B works when you can't get your hands on the ball. Tiger coach didn't change anything hardly all night. All that happened was that they lifted big time in the wet.

Getting smashed in the middle so take your best AA mid out of there.
Then put him into a backline you cant fit your best defender Tom Mc into.....Genius

It depends ... perhaps play could be stopped and the incident would be adjudicated by an off-field official. Such stopping of play would be about as disruptive as a blood rule substitution, while probably occurring less often.

I would rather have the occasional mistake by an umpire than incidents where reckless or intentional misconduct by opponents cause an injury to a key player. Which is of greater consequence?

And who is meant to be coaching the team and changing the attitude when needed, why have a coach at all?

I was reading an article on the AFL app about Nankervis being sent straight to the tribunal, and I was bemused when I read that Lloyd apparently played on for a few minutes after the incident before he came off for a concussion test. They must class kneeling on the ground and not moving as "playing on". What rubbish reporting.

I'm still pissed off that the tigers were able to score a goal when the umpires ignored our request to halt the game. Don't know how the 4 umpires can miss that. Longmire was also not impressed.

We were full strength at most times last year and made the GF.....but even on GF day we were not at 'full strength'.
No team is ever at "100%" there is no such thing in professional contact sports.

Spot on Mel. I was there and at the end where the incident happened. Lloyd definitely did not play on. And it was bloody infuriating watching Richmond stream into attack and score a goal while our players were desperately running around trying to cover for the fact they were a man down!

Pies have been playing all season with regularly 6-7 best 22 players out.

On rubbish spouted by reporters: many years ago a South Melbourne game at the Lake Oval. The Channel 7 call was from a scaffolding structure on the outer wing. The radio was called from the press box on the other side of the ground. After the game Lou Richards came down from his perch (we were standing close to him) and said to someone, "who were the best players, do you have some statistics" and he called the game. We had a decent chuckle.

Here is more discussion on the send-off rule on SEN: AFL greats square off on send-off rule in heated debate.
Luke Hodge: in favour. Named a few incidents.
Dermott Brereton: against. (IMO a weak argument with the appeal to tradition fallacy.)

It's not a surprise that Brereton would be against it. With his Tribunal rap sheet, he would have been sent off several times a year.

Im all for 20mins being served thru the protocol

Im no stupid enough to believe it decided the game

Poor umpiring hasnt decided our season, injuries caused our situation but we caused ourselves to stay there.

Couldnt have been gifted more of an opportunity to qualify for finals in an even season and we have failed the test time and time again
