Grundy played a great game after half time. Gulden might nearly be the best kick I've ever seen.

Grundy did some good things which showed his experience - he’s a good pick up

Good luck picking between Isaac, Errol and Paps for BOG. Though as someone who slapped $200 on Isaac at 20-1 for the Brownlow early this week . . .

I love what Heeney said after the game when asked about their niggle which was something along lines of let’s see if they can keep us for four quarters. Just laughed at their faux aggression. He also mentioned after the game that apparently 40 of our squad had basically done a full preseason, vs 25 last year. It shows.

Thought McInerney and McLean were also sneaky good, and Rampe and Chad fantastic. Jordon has a habit of working into second halfs so well.

As for Roberts the praise for him is justified. His positioning and decision making behind the ball suggests a high footy IQ.

Really nice to see how the Swans are finishing games this year after some 4th quarter struggles last year. The Swans look like a team that will be hard to wear down during a game. Essendon gave them a real challenge in that game but the Swans responded well. I especially like how our young core responded.

It is really clear now the players believe they can grind down opponents and win the long game, even with big challenges within a game. Comments from Papley and Heeney in that sense were very telling - you could see we had a belief that we could gradually chip away at it and get the job done when it matters.

A really good sign of a team that is maturing well and collectively as a unit.

Yes, it’s only allowed when you mark the ball outside of the line and then play on from 2m out side the boundary. And only then if it leads to an Essendon goal.

Nice combo of Florent and Robert’s across half back both solid body’s (as previous stated whoever game up with using in this position take a bow)

That was an entertaining game to see live. 2nd tier or the Brewongle provides a good vantage point. A few incidents occurred right in front of us, first was the Wright hit to lay out Cunningham. Watching live, it appeared that he made the decision to brace, left the ground and made severe, high contact. He’ll probably get off - but hope at least 2-3 weeks, as it did not look good. 2nd was the OOBOTF, play on & subsequent goal. Dumb stuff by the umps.

Bombers seemed very niggly & appeared to have a plan to push the limit. I was proud of the way our boys responded. We lifted intensity, but (mostly) didn’t get drawn into the thuggish tactics employed by the bombers.

Grundy was getting beaten badly earlier in the game - but once again worked his way back into the game. Has good hand/ball skills & i reckon can only get better as he gets more game time.

The boys look fitter than I’ve seen over last few seasons - made a difference, as I think we ran the game out better than the thugs.

From our vantage point in the Brewongle that “mark” was nearly a metre over the line.
The umpires collectively made some absolute howlers in this match. Commencing with no free kick paid for Wright’s hit on Cunningham.

On a positive note, really glad the boys didn’t get sucked in by Essendon’s sniping, and Braeden Campbell is almost as brilliant a kick of the footy as Errol.
A solid win against a team which often causes some angst.
