The commentators compared it to Maynard. I totally disagree with the comparisons, Maynard’s was a footy act, Wright’s was a dog act.
I still don't think Maynard should have been playing in the GF. Spoiling is a footy act. Leaving the ground and dropping your shoulder into a player's head is not. That player will never play again. Duty of care is a thing - & Maynard's actions were careless.

          Cunningham Concussion

So many ex players in the media defend Wright/Webster etc. etc.
          Why do they do so?
How many hits does one need to have taken to effectively spruik the benefits of brain damage?

Absolutely spot on. Melbourne supporters are still seething, and rightly so.

A lot are saying that Wright has the right to protect himself. From what? A player half his size reversing into him? As Matthew Lloyd pointed out, if Wright had gone for the mark or the spoil, all would've been ok. He'll get weeks and deservedly so.

                Another 9 for Isaac.

                Suspect it was:

Coach 1: Isaac, Gulden, Merrett, Papley and Warner
Coach 2: Paps, Heeney, Merrett, Gulden and Durham

Wouldn't argue with any of that bar Durham. Would have flicked a one vote to Rampe before him myself.

Coaches' votes, R2: Sydney Swans star Isaac Heeney goes further clear, SIX perfect 10s

Slightly surprised that Warner only got one vote. It'll be interesting to see how the Brownlow votes go for the first three games. Heeney is reasonably like to start the season with 9/9. While our players are an outside chance to go 18/18, but Viney, N. Daicos and Merrett could take votes from us.

Tony Jones (certified Victorian idiot) said that Wright was protecting himself from the 'steam train'.

So the much smaller, more courageous and completely unaware Cunningham is a 'steam train'? As I said, Jones is a certified idiot.

I definitely agreed with Lloyd's and Corne's views on this.....who said Wright should get 'weeks'.

Jones is a total clown and has been one for many years.

I dont know if anyone noticed near the end of the last qtr Tom Mac going backwards for a mark and Jake Stringer flying out and could have done an old school run straight through Tom……….but Stringer pulled out thank goodness. It would have been horrific.

Stringer was quite sportsman like given the edge to the game.

Jones was saying Papley was a hypocrite as the Swans were targeting Johannsen off the ball a few years ago.

But he later also said that what Papley said was fine, and agreed with the sentiment from Lloyd? that it is good to hear the players speak their thoughts (without scripting and rehearsing with media teams).

On The Couch showed video of Nick Hind lining up Chad with his elbow. Fortunately he missed, but it looked pretty bad.
