Re Heeney, if you look at the video and photos, the other player was bent over reaching for Heeney's crotch. Heeney swung his arm to clear the other players' arms, and his arm and hand are at ARMPIT height, not head height. There is no way he could have known the player had his head that low.
Yes the rules have changed (they keep changing all the time it seems), but it is a farce that this is a once week ban as there is no common sense interpretation that this was 'intentional' high contact. Especially after other players got off in recent rounds for worse high contact. But the AFL is famous for its (in)consistency. Look at what Clarko got for his homophobic slur (2 weeks suspended) vs Findlayson (6 weeks?).

agree with kafkas ghost, looked like a foot caused the nose bleed. But as we are sydney and not a vic based team he will probably loose appeal. should also do what Lions did with the fwd pkt and say he has not been reported not rubbed out in over 150 games> also believe if Mill is back Parker should be,also a past captain and mutliple B&F winner shoud have ha at least as much loaded trainingif not more than Mills. If not dont blame him if he asked to be traded.Comment

I agree. It looked like confetti and you could hardly notice it at the ground. I preferred the pride jumper with the rainbow V.Comment

Yes I did wonder at one point if the jumpers might be causing an adverse psychological effect.Comment

The Tribunal is currently deliberating after 60 minutes of evidence. Fingers crossed ????.
Some of the swans evidence posted on the AFL blog...
** The Swans say should the Tribunal need it, Heeney's good character and good record should be considered – like Charlie Cameron earlier in the season.
Heeney has played 193 games, never suspended and has received just two fines – one in 2018 and one in 2022.
"That's not a record that speaks of a player that has a history of illegal conduct, it's the opposite," Miller said.
** Heeney's counsel Duncan Miller says it might not even meet the threshold for careless (let alone intentional).
"It's not upwards, it's anything but intentional, the reaction is anything but intentional, the conduct is anything but intentional.
"Defenders will try and restrain and forwards will try and swat away.
"It might not even be careless."Comment

P.S. Luke Hodge tipped us to win Flag at the beginning of season. Reasoned how incredibly well we did to make finals last year with our crippling injury list after playing in 2022 GF & premiers failing to do so. With a healthier playing list & off-season recruitments, thought we would bounce right back on top stronger.
He kept referring this when other media pundits expressed surprise at our dominant start to the season.Comment
