An upgrade may solve (some) of the sites issues?
This is very likely to be a factor in the issues that the site is having - also running outdated and unsupported versions is a big security risk.

Looks like there are two upgrade options: a one-off fee (and another fee for further support) to install at the same server, or a hosted "in the cloud" option for a monthly fee. Like others here I'd be happy to contribute financially.

It seems to me that the performance of both the web server and the database is often poor, which may be due to any or all of the software version, the configuration, inadequate hardware (RAM/CPU) or poor internet connectivity. If the current hosting company is a contributing factor, perhaps the cloud option is worth considering.

The site admins should upgrade the vBulletin software to the latest stable version as soon as possible.

The site is becoming more and more frustrating to access. People will go elsewhere and not come back if this is not fixed. I know that many members (me included) would be happy to contribute to the costs of getting the site updated. Why is this not being addressed?

Further oi GS post it must be acknowledged that the work done by the moderators of the site, is greatly appreciated, but obviously they are limited by actions that they can take.
Are there any RWO members that work in the computer world, that could offer assistance to the mods and owners of the site? This site is my favorite site and I hope that this issue can be resolved.

I'm happy to kick in some dollars if we need pay to upgrade etc

I really appreciate all the efforts from the moderators...........I have no interest in changing Swan Supporter platforms.

Equally I'd be happy to contribute towards costs for upgrades, or whatever may be needed to iron out the bugs/problems that seem to be hampering the website at the moment.

It is now pathetic. The absence of feedback from admin on the many and continuous issues with the site is unacceptable. There are members, including myself, sticking up their hands offering to provide funds to get the issues fixed. What is going on?

Someone owns this site, right? Maybe they are busy and don't have the time and that is fine. I'm sure it's a love job / hobby and no one
is getting paid. I don't think people should get cranky about it not working a fair bit of the time at the moment. It's like complaining
about people who donate their time to a charity having a sickie every now and again.

Is Danzar able to be contacted? Does he know the problems the site has been having? I understand he probably has other priorities.
There are a number of us willing to contribute financially to assist with fixing the issue.

I really like our small community here and enjoy posting and reading other supporters views, especially on game day. I have been reading the Big Footy Swans board for 10 years and I have refrained from joining. I really don't want to join.

                          I don't post much bit, I read, I read a lot.
It is a community for me.

I do find it odd that no one from an admin/ownership/whatever explains what is going on with the site.
Makes me fear someone is suffering ill health.

If it is something that can be solved with money I am sure those who feel a part of this community would shell out.

Anyway, the normally reliable Logan misses the chance to become a hero....but as Horse said in the presser, it's not his fault that the Swans put themselves in that position.

I'm not too worried by this loss...it was a great comeback and maybe the loss we had to have. The slow starts are a worry, we need to remedy that.
I too would like to know what is going on with the site??? It almost feels like it's down pretty much 50% of the time I try and jump on for a look.

Can any of the mods, possibly liz, offer an answer?

                                Hi Liz / moderators,

Liz I went back to find you comments in May.

Thanks again for doing so much work behind the scenes. Always appreciated !

Do you know who one needs to chat to re web hosting, domains, access etc etc for this forum?

It appears the easy answer for this forum is transferring across to a new web hosting service? BUt someone on here must own the domain and be paying the web hosting etc?

every day there are errors showing saying that the host service is the issue?

                                Is that the only issue?

In my very limited knowledge of back end web services the web hosting service hosts the website and affects things like page speeds, downtime, and security.

If this is the main issue and or only issue I am happy to get a quote from the web host that I use for business etc.........and or 3 quotes if easier.

If approx $20pm etc in cost I am happy to pay the first year...........then after the first 12months paid by myself........maybe a few other forum members might be comfortable to carry the next year subs fee ?
