    …I was fearing the worst.

    I hope someone is able to assist - even though I haven’t been active much lately, I would certainly miss the place if it was gone. Fingers crossed a solution is found.

    Let me know if you need some other form of help or contribution ($).

      What are the changes needed to migrate the site to the new platform?

        Thanks for the update, Danzar. I, like most of the posters on here, have been frustrated, but it's great to finally hear what the issue is!

        As others have said, I love this site, so I'm happy to help in any way I can (unfortunately, I'm no programmer... haha)

              Refer to the thread by Danzar for explanation and details.

                Naturally, of course, I'm also very keen to assist with the migration costs. Please let us know how, Dan.

                (Sorry - I cannot assist at all with the technical side.)

                  I am very grateful to the people who have given their time and money over the years to keep this board going. It's a labour of love they get nothing whatsoever for. Sure it's frustrating when it's down, but having it at all is a privilege, not a right, and we should all be thankful for what we get. So please cut the people who run it some slack (and maybe show some gratitude).

                    Hi everyone, we're back up. Took the site down to upgrade the server space. You should now see more regular uptime and stability, but please don't count out intermittent issues and slow response times until the migration is done. Timeframe for that could be a couple of months.

                        I still need an answer to my question on what is required for the migration. This technical question is important.

                        * Current software and version
                        * Current server OS
                        * New version of software that is planned
                        * New server OS

                        It should be possible to use online resources to determine what is required for a migration. Once that information is found, it should be possible to set up a test server with the new configuration and experiment with that. The test server could run as a virtual machine using something like VMware so new test hardware would not be needed.
