    I think Jack should be given the number 14. Giving it to someone like Malceski or Kennelly, would be like a curse because they're already settled and having great careers to date.

            Many of those players never joined Sydney

            We were so poor in those days many of the players never came to the club, from our 1992 picks I think only Andrew Donnelly joined the club 12 months later

            We could not afford the clearence fees etc

              #40

              Plus:
              Adam Schneider #36 -> #13
              Greg Stafford #15 -> #1
              Ben Fixter #41 -> #9
              Scott Stevens #35 -> #16
              Heath James #30 -> #18

              Didn't Simon Arnott go from #2 back to #42 when Schwass arrived?

                According to the footage for MOL's 250 he went from 38 to 19.

                    I have a number of old footy records and would have numbers of reserves players as well as a fairly detailed list of reserves players from about 1983 to the end of the reserves comp in the AFL. Is there any interest in adding these to the numbers list?

                      I have been (trying) compiling a list at the moment, from various resources. So any help would be great.

                        I just received "The Encyclopaedia of AFL footballers" for my birthday. It appears to have numbers for most players.

                          I only discovered the other day that it had the numbers recently added.

                          No way of knowing if they are 100% accurate, but they seem to be.

                          Can already see a number of errors in the existing RWO numbers database. Happens when we are relying on the faded memories of posters (Mine)

                          And I've finally remembered that Terry Daniher wore number 2 in the 18 of his 19 games that he played for us

                          eg:
                          Greg Miller was 5 not 13
                          Neville Miller was 13
                          Robert Doyle was 28 not 32
                          Robert Brown was 32
                          John Murphy was 6 not 8.
                          These are just some of the errors I can see that this link has highlighted

                            There were 2 John Murphy's, one from 70-73 wore number 6, the other from Fitzroy 78-79 wore number 1.

                              Thsnk Dr J. I found that a week or so ago as well. And have been using it. While useful, I need a list that I can convert into a DB to update the current list we have. It is a very time consuming task.

                              I have also been here on the AFL site. But doesn't seem to have as many numbers as the stats.rleague link.

                                I know what you mean.

                                I suppose you could cut and paste 110 times into an excell spreadsheet. Data/Text to Columns and there you have a data base.

                                Its the cut paste 110 times that hurts.
